Cousin's last 13 games, 32 TDs and 3 INTs.
So impressive when you consider the overall play of his OL.

Cousins is on fire!

Nice to see the D adjust in the 2nd half, when was the last time that happened?

Minny Cook (Mattison) with a very good game.

Mark Anderson -> RE: General Vikes Talk (9/27/2021 12:25:10 PM)

Instead of messing around and getting Herndon, we should have made an effort to get CJ Henderson. Maybe Dantzler and that 4th for him.

Maybe our cap situation made it impossible.

Vikes have the talent to be a wildcard team. The only way they win the division is if someone knocks out Aaron Rodgers.

If the Vikings are to compete for a Wild Card the game against Carolina will be huge. One Wild Card will certainly come from NFC West.

The back foot 3rd down throw to KJ with the LB in his face is something we haven't seen in awhile(Favre).

Carolina building something pretty good. Pretty complete team.

I don't know who has a bigger man crush on Aaron Rodgers, you or Pat McAfee.

Oh, I don't know. Last week? 2 weeks ago?

Ham smashes on Special Teams.

Did Zimmer have like 3rd degree burns on the back of his neck, upper shoulders?

I had that thought too... but Henderson missed a bunch of playing time already... I don't think we are looking for another oft injured CB.
He is young though so it's hard to tell.

Rob Viking -> RE: General Vikes Talk (9/27/2021 2:00:51 PM)

Zimmer still had PTSD from last season's decision in Seattle. It was the right move then, and they should have definitely gone for the dagger with a 1st and goal from the 5. Had Smith been rightfully flagged in the end zone we're looking at a 6 point game with 4 mins left, and Seattle holding 2 TOs.

It's early and there's only three games in the books but let's hear it for unlikely hero Oli Udoh!

Mike Zimmer: "I told the team that it's the best offensive performance that I've seen in the eight years that I've been here."

Well, ofcourse ... we did it without having to throw it downfield much. They were 3-8 on third down, we were 9-14 – so not only did we play zimmer ball to a tee, we denied them their game.

Despite Mike Zimmer lauding the good offensive showing, #Vikings QB Kirk Cousins said they still need to do better in the red zone. He said they settled too much for field goals and that might come back to bite them.

Thank you Kirk. Playing great, keeping the fire hot. Zimmer may be prancing around the golden offensive efficiency calf in religious ecstasy ... but Seattle's defense is a shambles ... we will need to maximize our scoring opportunities against better teams, not just our time of possession.

That last FG pissed me off. When Mattison got the first down at the 5, I knew what was going to happen...two runs that would come up short and a half assed designed pass play. Sure enough, Mattison comes up short, a baffling handoff to Ham loses and the receiver screen to Thielen that never works, didn't work.

Nice to get a win but it's hard to argue with that ....

That sequence was one of only two negatives in the second half. Honestly, I don't know why they continue to throw screens to Thielen. He just isn't good at them. That last one was the more successful of the two that they threw him yesterday because it didn't lose yardage.

The other negative was the receiver getting 10 yards behind our secondary on the Hail Mary pass. Luckily the throw was late and Harrison Smith got away with a blatant pass interference.

Thielen's strengths are superior route running and great hands to catch the ball. Running after the catch is not his strong suit.

So they should never design a play where it is dependent on him to run after the catch. Sideline routes, Endzone, first down throws TO THE STICKS all great to use Theilen for. Little dump passes and screens and end arounds, not a good a idea.

seattle had gone 10 games without yielding a td on an opponent's opening drive - they yielded one yesterday to us....

russell wilson has the career 'highest winning percentage after a loss' of any quarterback in history - seattle lost last week....

Ricky J -> RE: General Vikes Talk (9/27/2021 4:53:25 PM)

The quarterback is getting rid of the ball faster than all but six passers in the league, according to Next Gen Stats, ditching his tendency to hold the ball and invite pressure as he waits for plays to develop.

Nice - I believe this looks better than the discussion we had on the same topic a few weeks ago.

I see Jefferson leads the league in yards per attempt.
