Dang, would not have minded Elam at CB.

The Vikings are still at 32. NFL network screwed up.

I can only imagine what they would spend moving back up?!?!?!?

If Malik Willis is there at 32... do you think about it?

I was just going to post the same thing. The top availables aren’t that thrilling. Could they be possibly targeting Willis? He’s the anti-Kirk. He could potentially be more than just a clipboard holder. He could be a wildcat QB, get some regular snaps.

I’m not saying. I’m just saying. Know what I’m saying?

Kwesi would pull a Mike Ditka and say take all the picks.

Phil Riewer -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/28/2022 9:42:47 PM)

When they show the Dallas War Room it looks like a bunch of mannequins.

I don't think he has the skills it takes to be an NFL QB. He's athletic, but not skilled and that's why nobody has picked him yet.

Way too much hand wringing going on. The Vikings are going to get at least 7 of the top 100 players and many draft experts have gushed about the solid first 100 guys in this draft. The #66 pick is just two picks out of the second round, this was not a bad trade, just not flashy and obviously the way you guys wanted it to go.

Thank God there is still someone around here who knows football. If this new guy drafts four starters he is a genius. If he drafts flops he is not. But if you think you know the results of this trade at this moment you give yourself way too much credit.

Slow down genius.

It's an opinion board ...

Nobody knows how this is going to turn out.

You're giving yourself way too much credit if you think you're the only one that understands that.

Chris Olson -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/28/2022 9:44:49 PM)

can't believe johnson is still available

Another chart, #12 = 1200 with the return at 1430.

Edit - we gave up 440 more which would be 1640 if we gave up the 2nd.

Something doesn't sound right.

Can't say I'm a fan of the trade, but... weirdly, although it's a loss on Rich Hill's Chart, it's a win on PFF's and F-S.

Ignore Jimmy Johnson's, which everyone knows is nuts.

Maybe in their mock drafts, the Vikes liked the selection of players that showed up in the 30's. Like some players in positions of need often fell. So they felt they could squeeze out more value.

This is the part people don’t account for. All the draft trade tools are just that. Tools. They are not the final word. They provide a baseline that you then need to apply to your draft board and come with some sort of integrated decision.

I have one conclusion: The Vikings weren't super high on Kyle Hamilton. Because if they had him in the top 6, say, they would have just drafted him. If you think he's actually around 12, and you don't want a top WR, the trade down makes a lot of sense. Because nobody else left was a plausible steal.

OTOH, I'm not liking the run at CB. But it looks like the Vikes might be able to pick up very good value at LB, or Edge. Or maybe C Linderbaum. Anyway, still some shot at a player ranked in the teens. So 32/34 might be BPA from the teens + CB reach.

kgdabom -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/28/2022 9:46:13 PM)

I'm kind of hoping for the Greek Freak now.

Bill Johanesen -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/28/2022 9:47:10 PM)

So if we are not into needs this year:

LB - Dean, Lloyd
Edge - J Johnson, Karlaftis
S - Hill
TE - McBride

Then there are CBs Booth, McCreary

Tom as usual you are a voice of reason. Could this work out in the end? Sure, but is it likely? No.

Bill Johanesen -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/28/2022 9:52:01 PM)

Ravens trade just two spots from 23 to 25- this late in the 1st round - and get a 4th!

It puts Kwesi's boondoggle in perspective.

I'm not very sure about Hamilton. I'm very confident about Jordan Davis.

kgdabom -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/28/2022 9:53:03 PM)

Linderbaum I would have liked at 32, but he's gone now.

David F. -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/28/2022 9:55:34 PM)

Hmmm…. Tyler Linderbaums highlights showed no pass blocking but added in wrestling footage. So maybe he IS a Bradbury clone?

Daniel Lee Young -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/28/2022 9:55:35 PM)

Kman starts his first draft with an FFF - fleeced, fooled, and floundering…and lost value..

What a day…

I am not the one sitting here acting like I know what these players are going to be like two and three years from now. I would have bet on Davis from Georgia but it’s still only a guess.

He will be better than what we currently have there.

I expect LB & CB.

I checked team needs, and somebody is going to pick up the edge players. But nobody has LB on their list (not sure who Green Bay was trying to jump).

There's a decent shot they pick up Devin Lloyd, who would be a steal at 32.

p.s. While I wasn't looking, Johnson went. And Linderbaum. LB still falling.

Viking Rich -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/28/2022 9:56:24 PM)

LoL Just heard on ESPN that center is the safest pick in the first round

TJSweens -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/28/2022 9:58:01 PM)

Damn! I was hoping Johnson would be there at 32.

Tom Sykes -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/28/2022 9:59:19 PM)

CBs Booth and Gordon are the last CBs I would get excited about.

After that its Dantzler and whoever going mano a mano.

EDIT: Belay that ... just heard that there are medical concerns about Booth (Ragatz / SI)

kgdabom -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/28/2022 9:59:50 PM)

Another nice pick Jermaine Johnson. My hopes right now are Devonte Wyatt or Booth.
