The Ravens promoted their QB coach to OC. He was already with the team and did not install an entirely new offense.

No, David. I said the ideal would be to get Vic Fangio.

I would be ok with going from within, and trying Mike Pettine. His Packers' defenses were at least decent, it would have to be better than the sieve that we get with Donatell. It is arguably the worst defense in the league with Donatell.

Blaming the dc is easy. U look under the hood and there isn’t young talent ready yet. Rhodes Wayne’s Hunter Smith Kendrick’s Barr were the key when Zimm first came in.

U can’t scheme a slow back seven.

I think if you have a Healthy Zed, Smith, Dantzler, and Evans----the defense looks much better. That was about 5 games ago. You can't hide the 5'8" Shelley no matter how you scheme.

Zim and Donatell are old school, their defenses suck, and aren't successful in the playoffs.

Had Donatell gone to the Rams last year as a DC, they probably wouldn't have made the playoffs, or would have been one and done.

They had basically 3 studs: Donald, Miller and Ramsey.
After the season, many would have been saying that Donald and Miller look like they lost a step and Ramsey is getting old.

The Vikings have 5 studs that look mediocre to poor with the Donatell system: Hunter, Z, Kendricks, Peterson and Smith.

Exactly.

Barring having a bunch of players out for weeks on end, it's a lame excuse. It's almost a given a couple of starters will be out throughout the season.

For the longest time this season we had just about everyone healthy, yet there were flaws and we are still bottom tier (last in yards). If we simply had an average number of injuries all season, we'd probably be near or at the bottom in points allowed and just about all key categories.

Apparently you didn't read my response Bill. My points are only being re-inforced.

I wanted Donatell fired after week 2, and I think most people are now starting come around to that. The Vikings will not win a Super Bowl with Donatell. I would be willing to straight up bet that, and I would even give you the next 3 years.

You don't like Donatell and that is fine.
Great players make plays---the defense needs a talent over haul. We have Kendricks and Hicks playing LB like Thielen plays 2nd WR. The difference is there isn't a Pr Bowler at the other LB.
PPeterson is playing good but he is getting high PFF rankings because teams are throwing at Shelly first.
Yes you can scheme what you want but until Dantzler and Evans are fully back you have Shelley at CB...blitz or no blitz a 4-5 inch height mismatch.
Offenses will scheme Shelley first and then our slow LB, and then run the ball, or expose the lack of speed at DB.

Donatell is a lost cause.

Staying with Donatell, we may see a temporary improvement, in response to the awfulness, maybe a few games of good pressure, some turnovers. Then go right back to 400 yards given up, and sucking under Donatell.

I bet if we go back to when Donatell was fired we see GB personnel limitations also. I don’t love the guy but they have two to three guys on staff or advising that aren’t chicken soup but former coordinators also. Most of the Same personnel as 20 and 21. You must not see that it it isn’t Zimmer or Donatell even though both possibly past their prime.

Offense was meant to carry this years team and u r unhappy?

I know that OBJ is the talk but I would see if Sherman has something left in the tank.

You're not supposed to lose your starter, plug in your backup you wanted to get rid of...keep rolling until you lose him, then plug in the last pick in the draft and still keep rolling.

We'll be lucky to hold them off the #2 seed...which would = a road loss to them in the divisional round. Probably a home loss to them if it falls the other way.

We'll have to hang our hat on the Buffalo win and at best 1 playoff win.
