No one is going to stop it I can tell you that [&:] Humans are hard-wired for negativity.

To many one sounds intelligent, objective and knowledgeable saying your QB sucks 'cause he has too many 4th q comebacks and he should be better than to be in that position. But to be accused of being a love slobberer, now that stings!

No, it's ok to discuss the bad with the good, but some maybe shouldn't look so hard to always discuss the bad.

David F. -> RE: General Vikes Talk (12/27/2022 6:44:05 PM)

So as long as we win everything is great and anything other than rah rah Kirk for mvp should just STFU. What a great discussion that will be. [&o]

No one said he sucks because he had too many 4 qtr comebacks. No one has even said he sucks. Jayzuz y’all are so defensive.

We are 12-3 and should be enjoying a magic carpet ride of a season. A ride I didn't expect to have this season. I was on the record for blowing this team up and starting over. I'm not a KC-stan.

We all know, or should, that that the team is far from perfect, I say it all the time.

What we do have: (the good)
The best WR in the game
An above average RB and TE
Two stud OT's
A top 10-12 QB who when protected well is really good.

99 & 55 can cause some havoc.
#7 & #22 have a lot of savvy and a knack for creating turnovers

Punter has been a stud all season and the K seems to be recovering from an early season slump.

We aren't as good as I wish we were but this season has been a blast and I hope the keep finding a way.

Too many here, and around the league are poo-pooing our record because we aren't blowing anyone out. IDGAF how many we win by as long as we keep finding a way. This team seems to have something special going for it and I'd rather enjoy it than bust their balls for not having better stats. JMHO. If you feel better complaining go ahead, but my advice is to stop and enjoy it.

Life is too short.

Savor, savor, savor.

Now let's go kick the Pukers' ass !!!

That was pretty good up until the bolded part that nosedives into over-simplification.

You can label it as complaining or busting his balls or whining, whichever label allows you to dismiss it as poo-poo and step around it ... which is your right.

Meanwhile, there are plenty of others thoroughly enjoying the ride ... who don't restrict themselves to only talking about the obvious good stuff.

Life is too short for blinders.

It’s not cousins or the offense or KOC that is the problem…

It is the soft defense that lets journeyman level QB’s consistently put up career days and let’s offensive juggernauts, like Dallas and Philly, score at will and exploit a defensive scheme that has mismatched or improper personnel and scheming.

Kirk cousins has A-LOT of what I consider dumbass moment, like holding the ball too long, not seeing the wide open secondary receiver because he laser focuses on his primary, not running for easy yards when it’s right in front of him, taking sacks at times when he could just throw it away..but Kirk and the offense is what ultimately wins these games..

IMO, it is gonna be the defense that is what rips my heart out in the playoff against increasingly better opponents.

5 straight weeks of 400+ yards of offense given up, not a good precursor to playoff longevity..

Winning by 1 or winning by 30 looks the same in the standings.
We are finding ways to win. We are battle tested in close games. This team has a resiliency rarely seen in the history of the NFL. If the game is close now, I have confidence we are going to come away with the W. And in the end the W is all that matters, whether it be by 1, by 30 or any other number.

I picture something like the 41-0 NFC title game. An opposing coach does the obvious, pass every down for 5-8 yards because the DB's are sagging off 10. Score every possession.

Donatell is dead man walking, no way he returns in 2023.

Evans and Dantzler are back soon and Shelly is emerging....I think you see a different team with Evans and Dantzler.

Ofcourse. You can say that you’re taking it one game at a time, enjoying every moment … but this season will also be judged by how it ends, not just the amazing regular season.

This GB game carries more weight than any game this season, and then the one after that (maybe) but for sure the playoff game after that and hopefully the playoff game after that, etc.

People can turtle up and just focus on one game at a time or the orevious games in the season. There’s nothing wrong with that. There’s nothing wrong with picking apart the games so far and trying to guess how the will effect the games moving forward.

TJ Hockenson has played 8 games for Vikings. In those games, Justin Jefferson has 71 rec, 1004 yds, 6 TDs.

If you extrapolate that over a 17 game season, JJ would have 151 rec, 2134 yds, 13 TDs.

As much as JJeff has done; adding TJ may have helped turn him loose more....

David F. -> RE: General Vikes Talk (12/28/2022 10:03:05 AM)

Somehow the narrative went from 'Kirk is the best - suck it haters' to 'why can't you enjoy a win?'. It's nothing more than an attempt to suppress open discussion. This just in: It's possible to love winning, love the Vikings, hate Cousins' shortcomings, and still get a tattoo of scripture on my ass - of his choosing - and an image of his dick on my face - and laugh throughout the process. I'm also the first one to call Vikes 7-2 and the first one to seriously predict a Super Bowl win this year.

So anyone with realistic expectations has that tattoo....maybe you still just hate Kirk Cousins the person which has nothing to do with player? [:-]

My expectations increased after we traded for TJ. A dominant TE has been a link most forget on recent Super Bowl winning and losing teams (Olsen, Gronk, Kelce).

Not many have seen it---Kwesi seemed too.

It has got to be a coverage nightmare for opposing DCs.

You have to cover JJ (best in the business right now) Thielen, an elite route runner, Osborn, and a top TE, Hockenson on any given play, not to mention a pretty good RB coming out of the backfield in Cook.

That's why other teams try really hard to get to Kirk...that's about the only way to stop this passing attack.

Ricky J -> RE: General Vikes Talk (12/28/2022 10:50:47 AM)

HL says, "Typical deflection/ jab rather than address the substance of post" ... You wanted to discuss, "Cousins is still who he is and its obvious?"

David F says, "All those crappy qbs out there who can’t have six, seven, nine or ten comebacks because they put the game away early when they have the chance. Losers!" Then you say, "It's nothing more than an attempt to suppress open discussion."

Sounds like you guys want to suppress what others feel are important aspects of this season. eg: defense has been brought up many times.

If you take out all the emotion it wasn't all bad and we turned a few pages yesterday. That doesn't always happen anymore.

If we flame out like under Zimmer, it'll be bad.

Like we can not have a repeat of last month's 40-3 drubbing.

If we play well and lose a good game, I can live with it.

I think Donatell needs to go regardless - unless we turn into the 85 Bears throughout the Playoffs...

The defense in the fourth quarter though... It's incredible. It defies logic.
