The pessimist in me says they will restructure Kirk and a year or 2, and then do that and keep Smith, Zed and Theilen, maybe trade Hunter.

But I expect at least one surprise, like the Hock trade last year. Maybe a trade for a CB ?

hunter is the only one in that group with upside, and he has a $13mm cap hit in 2023...I think that kwesi reworks hunter's deal after he gets the roster settled, and he knows where he's at financially....

That seems backwards. I think any restructures will occur before getting the roster settled. Then they will know exactly where they are financially and hit free agency.

Hunter's contracts have been restructured so many times, or so it seems. There is already $11.2 million in dead cap from him in void years in 2024-25. Hunter won't care, but $11 million in dead cap from one player is enough.

Im sick of the excuses..

Cousins is our best option…

We can’t cut him, the cap hit would be massive

We won 13 games with him at quarterback

**** all that..

**** extending or restructuring

**** his no trade clause

Put up with his terrible in game decisions and chicken shit Checkdown, stat padding completion % for 1 more season and move the **** on…

T S is resigned to mediocrity and an unknown management ability to draft and manage in the current NFL.

I am not.

Cousins is “ cut bait”.

If I was the Wilfs, I’d pay any team 80% of his last years contract value in exchange for a second and 2- 4ths..

Of course I’d listen to better offers, but his money is dead cap money no matter whether he plays all season, breaks a leg or shoulder in his first 2023 game, or gets cut, moved or outright run over by a ****ing bus…

Move the **** on..

I'm not sure who else 'T S' would refer to ...

If you are referring to me:

Don't make it sound like I'm, in some way, okay with a mediocre approach and ...'you are not'.

How I read our current situation is different than how I'd approach our situation. Period.

The only thing about this post that surprises me is you didn't us all CAPS.

I almost feel bad that you are gonna have to put up with Cousins again next season - almost [;)]

Yea I hated Favrey, Webb.. I stood behind Ponder and was vilified,

I wanted Bridgewater to succeed.. and some of y’all called me on that..

How’s it feel to have your worthless QB money grubbing, wannabe choke king run into the ground, consistently?

I don’t care..

Cousins sucks and I’m not the only one who thinks so.. entire teams and franchises have bailed on his lack of talent.. I’m good with the company I keep on Kirk ****ing Cousins.

The QB’s playing in 57 are light years better than cousins on his best day..

Daniel Lee Young -> RE: General Vikes Talk (2/12/2023 8:46:38 PM)

I suppose I’m gonna start early on my plate of crow…

Reid and KC have sucker play/ punched Philadelphia defense in the face on three straight drives coming out 10 down at the half..

They ran the exact same play in the red zone for touchdown, once to the right, then to the left..

I really thought Philadelphia defense was gonna be tougher..

Daniel Lee Young -> RE: General Vikes Talk (2/12/2023 8:52:16 PM)

Then Jalen Hurts redeems Philadelphia…

By his legs and talent..

Ricky J -> RE: General Vikes Talk (2/12/2023 9:10:22 PM)

The story of the season, The Officials!

Daniel Lee Young -> RE: General Vikes Talk (2/12/2023 9:14:55 PM)

It’s the money…

KC and State Farm discount double check gets a ticky tacky defensive holding for the win…

ronhextall -> RE: General Vikes Talk (2/12/2023 9:25:56 PM)

Grab jersey and you risk that penalty.

Philly defense looked like trash in second half. Really the entire game. Forcing two punts and no sacks

Philly defense was over hyped based on playing no elite QBs all year.

Hurts is better than I expected but does he have the passing game to win when he dominates their salary cap?

Running QBs have a short shelf life if they don’t learn to pass.

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talk (2/12/2023 10:02:41 PM)

I didn't understand the TD taken away from KC earlier in the game.

The Philly WR caught it, the ball was jarred loose, and KC got a TD. They ruled it a TD.

The WR caught it, and took a step. Does the WR need to take two steps ?

When you leave it up to ambiguous judgment like "a football move" you can interpret it however you see fit. The NFL is a joke. If you want to avoid the bang bang fumble just say a receiver has to take 3 steps before a fumble can be caused. But they won't because controversy sells.

Here's what you don't get...you're wrong. There was no football move
Simple as that.

Todd M -> RE: General Vikes Talk (2/13/2023 5:56:52 AM)

A lot of people trashing the halftime show. I thought it was great/all timer.

Brad H -> RE: General Vikes Talk (2/13/2023 7:20:14 AM)

Never mind the ridiculous defensive holding call. What about Mahomes fumbling the kneel down and the viewers never seeing a replay? They were so obsessed with the blown defensive holding call that we ever saw a replay of the kneel down, which looked like a fumble to me in real time.

That was a bad look for the NFL last night. I had no dog in the fight, but that was an awful way to end what had been a pretty entertaining football game. I was at a party that had fans of both teams. It totally took the air out of the party. Even the KC fans were criticizing the call.

I've been saying it for years. The 5-yard defensive holding call is the ultimate bail-out call for the officials. How many times have we seen a team with third and long and the offense gets bailed out by a 5-yard defensive holding call? If the penalty is so egregious , why is it only five yards? The league could do themselves a lot of favors by not attaching an automatic first down to the call. It's the one call in the game where I routinely say to myself; "this game is rigged."

They would just call the spot fall PI on every play instead...[;)]

I'd like to see the stat on how many times the 5-yard holding call is called on third down rather than first or second. And how many times it is called on an incompletion versus a completion.

Todd M -> RE: General Vikes Talk (2/13/2023 7:58:12 AM)

Seems pretty silly to cry foul on a penalty the player admits to.

The game had been officiated one way for 58 minutes. Seems pretty silly to change the way it is called in the final two minutes, with a world championship weighing in the balance.

Kansas City very well may have won the game regardless.

It's calls like that that call into question the authenticity and legitimacy of the game.

Bill Johanesen -> RE: General Vikes Talk (2/13/2023 8:19:08 AM)

Totally inconsistent crap call.

Grew tired of seeing Philly play rugby in short yardage situations. But if it helps the offense by sustaining 15 play drives, wearing out the defense, etc, then the NFL loves it.

The NFL has a new poster boy. That was obvious in the game against Cincinnati when the Chiefs got every call down the stretch. It was obvious last night in the final minutes.

The Chiefs are a very good team. They didn't need that call to win the game. It's just a bad look.

several "experts" are saying the officials missed a blatant hold that would have helped Kansas City earlier in the game but didn't call it.

Things tend to even out and as always, if you are putting yourself in position where one call can kill you, that's on you.

How in the hell does Kansas City get two guys that wide open inside the 5 yard line on two previous TD's? That was crazy.

Fumble and give up a TD on a scoop score.

Give up a huge punt return.

The alleged "awesome D-Line" did exactly jack squat all day. They let a QB with a bad leg look like Lamar Jackson running.

A penalty is a penalty regardless of the game situation.

He held him, was the flag thrown immediately or after the pass was overthrown?

I get tired of the Oliver Stone starter kit garbage of saying "It's Fixed". Really? And all the officials and owners magically keep their mouth shut forever?

reffing sucks and fewer and fewer people get into it, I have seen high school officials get followed to their car and parents losing their minds. That's where it starts, you don't go to "college" to be trained as an official. My kid played D1 baseball as a catcher, he tried umping and knows the game and the strike zone, one summer and he said "I am done, parents are assholes". I have been on the chain gang for high school football or a stats guy for the last decade, I would toss darn near all head coaches 10 minutes into a game, their treatment of officials is embarrassing as an adult. You flush a lot of people out of the trade within a year.

The only way you are going to get better reffing is if the NFL embraces a USFL/XFL league and uses it as a place for refs to get reps and it would also be a great place for long shot QB's to get reps.

Mahomes and Reid are just that damn good. Went through the "best Defense in the league" like poop through a goose damn near all game.

For every loser that says "the refs cost us the game" how often have we every heard "the only reason we won was the refs"?

You want the NFL to have an official set of different rules for the last two mintues?

I wouldn't care if there was some consistency. Don't make a critical call with a minute to play that you wouldnt make earlier.
Its like between all the crews they don't know what they're going to call and what they're going to let go.

Good for him that he admitted it. What would weve thought of him if he denied it and cried about it?

I wanted KC to win - f the birds. But i felt that was the wrong time for that call

Bill Johanesen -> RE: General Vikes Talk (2/13/2023 9:00:50 AM)

Warmer. How about NFL fans do not want a different set of calls for the last two minutes.

Bill Johanesen -> RE: General Vikes Talk (2/13/2023 9:03:56 AM)

I'd like to see more calls saying the ball was uncatchable regardless.
