And then Bill and bohumm went for a beer. The end.

Bill Johanesen -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/1/2022 7:00:30 PM)

I went sarcastic earlier toward you and others, in your case because you were ascribing the theory the Vikings were going by to me and concluding that the Saints' method was superior with no possibility the Vikings know what they're doing.

I don't know what "going by to me" means, but why toss out more exaggerated BS? My post:

Explored the timelines.

Stated "All that's doable depending on some things..."

Stated "I suppose the teams consider the following week, which on the surface would mean the Vikings have the advantage."

Face it, you want the board to suit you. You've been angry about it for months. Sorry control freak, it doesn't work that way.

Doh! Can you delay your post for 10 minutes?!

David F. -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/1/2022 7:27:40 PM)

Vikes are going to be 4-1 after week 5. Bookmark it.

Bill Johanesen -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/1/2022 7:47:32 PM)

We are healthier than the Saints and have more talent than the Bears. Talent that hasn't been realized with weak areas also. 4-1 looks promising.

The Home/Away composition seems favorable too. For example, assuming we'd lose to the Bills home or away I like having:
@Bills
Cowboys

rather than
Bills
@Cowboys

Wish we had Miami at home though. And we have to prove we can win on the road.

Then there are the 'what to make of them' teams like the Cardinals, Giants, and Patriots. Perhaps the Cardinals are not all that and the Giants will revert to form.

bohumm -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/1/2022 9:03:30 PM)

I apologize to the board for this waste of time. I'm done.

Meh.. waste of time is not unusual..

Lots of us have gone back and forth..

i see us as a 'what to make of them' team...many assume that we're facing teddy in Miami now....

i hope o'connell and donatell are going to make the adjustments they've learned over the last couple of games - when one wins games that they should have lost, changes could seem less necessary....

Todd M -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/2/2022 7:01:57 AM)

No mercy!!!

I don't care what they're wo...let's wipe our asses on them.

Todd M -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/2/2022 7:10:37 AM)

NFN taking Kirk to task. Making good points.

Todd M -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/2/2022 7:40:41 AM)

WTF was that chick on NFL N smoking?

Said Kirk Cousins was making his 35th career start and if anyone shines brighter in the spotlight I don't know...tell me, tell me someone.

Bill Johanesen -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/2/2022 7:44:23 AM)

Kamara out.

PCP? She's been watching imaginary television if she truly thinks that.

Well someone told me that a) she was referring to prime time starts and that b) she was being sarcastic.

She's off the hook on a and if she actually took a shot a Kirk I'd give her props.

As an aside it's tough to tell anymore if someone's playing dumb or being obviously sarcastic...with how much real dumb there is out there.

Todd M -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/2/2022 12:17:11 PM)

Looking at the Cine injury. He got blown off a block and dummied himself. Partly bad luck.

There was limited potential here but now we'll never know for sure.

Todd M -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/2/2022 12:18:49 PM)

Fractured ankle.

Really disappointing news.

Vikes could desperately use some speed at safety.

Really hoping Booth can get on the field and be solid.
Dantzler is looking solid to me.
Booth developing would be big.

(and it would make me less bitter about that 1st Kwesi draft)

Todd M -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/2/2022 12:45:56 PM)

First time Cousins has a winning record through week 4.

Daniel Lee Young -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/2/2022 1:00:30 PM)

Second in a row, come from behind..

Needed a double doink at the end..

The drops, by targets, yikes..

Thr inaccuracy of some of those throws.. yikes..

The dime he dropped a few times.. wish I could see a lot more of that..

O’Neil getting abused.. not good..

Pass pro in general.. not good..

Liked the fake Punt.. not the series after it..

I’ll take the win all day..

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/2/2022 1:08:05 PM)

With the way Kirk played today, I think Mullens may have gotten more TDs, and led to a blowout win.

But I do think Kirk offers more upside then Mullens, and I am hoping Kirk gets better in the system as the season goes along.

ambear -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/2/2022 2:04:15 PM)

Started drinking early. Happy for the win. Maybe some red zone practice so we don't have to see a heart surgeon every Monday!

Bill Johanesen -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/2/2022 2:22:41 PM)

In the bogus stat category we are currently tied for third in the NFL for best winning percentage at .750

I like these early games after a win... get to watch or follow all the struggles much of the league is undergoing. It's like flying 1st class, not that I do, while knowing there is a bunch of rabble rousing and angst going on back in the cattle car section.

JC2022 -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/2/2022 4:43:32 PM)

QUOTE: What to know: The Vikings are 3-1 even though their offense and defense, overhauled in the transition to new coach Kevin O'Connell, are very much works in progress. Sunday's game in London was won by their special teams -- place-kicker Greg Joseph kicked five field goals, including what proved to be the game winner from 47 yards out -- and was sealed only when Saints place-kicker Will Lutz hit the upright and crossbar from 61 yards away. Meanwhile, the offense has been disjointed and has struggled to get snaps off before the play clock. And the defense has given up huge chunks of yards at inopportune times.

Is quarterback Kirk Cousins going to be able to sharpen up in this offense? Cousins had a decent line Sunday, completing 25 of 38 passes for 273 yards, and made the key pass in the game to set up the game-winning field goal. But he missed receiver Justin Jefferson open twice in the end zone and has looked uncomfortable in the pocket in this new scheme. -- Kevin Seifert
