I thought I heard somewhere that Polanco's issue could be chronic.

That sounds like something I read as well.

Of course with our crack staff any injury could become chronic.

bstinger -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (4/20/2023 1:53:24 PM)

I was waiting for the patented Pagan blow up.

MDK -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (4/20/2023 2:02:19 PM)

But but Pagan has electric stuff. Our crack upper management resigned him based on his fantastic arm and not the results from last season.
I am sure 1.2 innings, 8 hits and 6 runs is an aberation.

Ricky J -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (4/20/2023 2:14:15 PM)

And here I thought, Even Pagan probably could of won that game the other night; probably not

Pagan brutal outing.

I've come to expect nothing less.

It's impressive to allow that much damage with no walks and not assuming or leaving any inherited runners.

He had to hurry up and get loose/ready

Man up

Who's softer, the players or the manager?

Mister Ed -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (4/20/2023 8:38:32 PM)

And where's the depth?

ooooo

Nada

bullpen pretty much sucks at AAA

Brad H -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (4/21/2023 9:33:56 AM)

What is the magic number for Buxton's eventual season-ending injury?

Why not bring up Ober?

Then, between Ober, Mahle and Maeda, you see how they are pitching and you keep starting 2 of them and the other one becomes long man/10th inning and beyond guy.

MDK -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (4/21/2023 11:40:34 AM)

Rocco defends Pagan

Twins will never make it back to WS with:
1. Pohlad ownership
2. Falvine upper management
3. Rocco as manager
4. A training staff of idiots
and
5. Soft players who don't possess a burning desire to win.

Jeff Allen -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (4/22/2023 3:10:17 PM)

Nice to see the 5-13 Nationals in town this weekend...should be three easy wins.

Mister Ed -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (4/22/2023 4:15:32 PM)

Changes need to be made
Start at the top
Same mediocrity and helplessness at the plate, and lackadaisical play.

MDK -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (4/22/2023 4:16:28 PM)

Sure many Twins fans saw this series as a chance to get out the brooms.
Bring em tomorrow and pass them onto any Nats fans at the game

MDK -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (4/22/2023 8:02:29 PM)

I was pleased with the trade for Pedro Lopez and the new contract he signed. Some of the off season acquisitions have been good. Correa fell into their lap. But Falvine, for all their promise about building a pitching staff for the organization, have been a complete failure in significantly improving pitching throughout the organization. Trades have been awful. Injuries way too plentiful. Development in the minors is an abject failure in the organization.

Brad H -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (4/23/2023 8:23:05 AM)

Pablo Lopez outing:

4 IP, 8 H, 2 BB, 5 ER (in short, awful)

He's regressing back to Pablo Lopez, folks. Career record now at 29-33.

Meanwhile, Luis Arraez went 3-for-4 yesterday and is now hitting .444. The Marlins are 12-9 after losing 93 games last season

ZERO errors in 79 chances. Not bad for a guy that some of you say can't play defense.

TJSweens -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (4/23/2023 10:02:20 AM)

I was wondering how long it was going to take Brad to show up with the chum bucket.

TJSweens -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (4/24/2023 7:41:52 AM)

It's good to see Polanco back in the lineup and healthy. He's a complete ballplayer who will lend some stability to the lineup.

Also good to see Ober up for a start. I think we will see Ober replacing either Maeda or Mahle long term before much longer.

Kirilloff is tearing it up in AAA. I think he will be there a while longer. I think they want to keep him on a regimen of play - day off and ramp him up slowly. So far so good. Fingers crossed on this one. He is potentially a huge stick if the wrist issues are really behind him.

Maybe the Marlins are better coached
It wouldn't be a surprise
Wish Shelton had this team vs iPad king

Where do you play Arreaz? Gallo has 7 HR and Polanco is back. Pablo has one stinker in 4 games and errors are not the problem; he can't cover any ground.

TJSweens -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (4/25/2023 7:48:10 AM)

Sonny Gray pitches 7 shutout innings, Gallo hits another bomb and the Twins keep their uniforms urine free, beating the Skanks 5-1. Win tonight and the Twins take the season series. Polanco continues to produce in his return with two hits and 3 rbi.

Even Moran couldn't manage to blow it. He did continue to demonstrate that he doesn't belong in the major leagues. Moran is basically the left handed Emilio Pagan.

bstinger -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (4/25/2023 9:14:40 AM)

I'll take Gallo at 1st over Arraez anyday and twice against a righty.

2023 Stats:

Arraez
BA: .444
OB%: .506
SLG%: .583
OPS: 1.090

Gallo
BA: .243
OB%: .364
SLG%: .757
OPS: 1.121

Gallo hits home runs. The rest of the at-bats, you might as well send air to the plate.

Any day, and twice on Sundays? The guy has struck out 13 times in 37 at-bats. Good luck when the at-bat means something.
