I'm watching the Boston broadcast. All I can say is...Dick Bremer, I was wrong. You're a phenomenal broadcaster. I never realized how great Bert Blyleven was at color commentary.

Doh-kay

Rockhead and Galloot both get tossed for arguing a strike 3 call THAT WAS A STRIKE.

Hate to say it, but that's on wonderboy Royce Lewis. He was nonsensically picked off 3B in a scoring situation, and all hell broke loose. Know the situation. Know the game.

The guy doing color for the Sux is some guy named Bill Burr. He's supposedly a stand up comic. The guy is trying desperately hard to be funny and just failing miserably.

Interesting. He's an extremely well respected comedian and actor.

Really? Never heard of him. He was seriously awful in the booth. Must not be his milieu.

I think Sweens is very smart on college hoops, college football and the NHL. He is moderately smart on the NBA, WNBA and the NFL. But he is mediocre smart on MLB. Mediocre smart actually equals "casual fan." I don't take his Twins posts seriously.

Sonny Gray is kind of a weird dude.

Says the man who blamed Lewis for Gallo and Rockhead getting tossed for arguing ball and strikes after Gallo looked at an obvious strike 3 for his second straight AB. That's great insight Matt. It ranks right up there with Gardy blaming Cuddyer swinging at a first pitch for Radke giving up a home run two innings later.

Rocco needs to get tossed more; we won.

Twins signed Dallas Keuchel!

Correction. The Twins signed the shell of Dallas Keuchel.

If he were any good he wouldn't have been available at this point.

His career has nosedived the past few years.

I would rather keep running Louis Varland out there.

Um.

A manager and a hitter being thrown out for arguing balls and strikes has exactly zero to do with a baserunner being picked off, unless the umpire called a strike when the pitcher threw the ball to third base...

I wonder what Lewis did on Gallo's previous AB when he stood and looked at the exact same pitch for strike 3. 🤔

PA just asked Kyle Farmer about his first hit with the Dodgers, which was a walk-off hit vs the Giants, if it was at Dodger Stadium or in San Francisco.

I'd prefer if he gets tossed during pre-game warm-ups.

The Minnesota Twins signed 2015 Cy Young winner and two-time All-Star Dallas Keuchel to a minor league contract on Thursday.

Keuchel, 35, started 14 games for three teams in 2022: the Chicago White Sox, Arizona Diamondbacks and Texas Rangers. He went 2-9 with a 9.20 ERA.

"We're glad to have him in the organization and to give him an opportunity to go out there and pitch and show all the things that he's been working on," Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said.

Keuchel has been working with Driveline Baseball and has increased his velocity from 87.2 to 89 mph from last year, among other metrics.

Keuchel is 101-91 with a 3.98 ERA in 268 career appearances (257 starts) with five teams, most notably the Houston Astros (2012-18), with whom Keuchel won the AL Cy Young. He went 20-8 with a 2.48 ERA in 2015.

Buxton with 2nd longest HR of his career. Hopefully it wakes his bat up!

Steve Lentz -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (6/22/2023 1:02:30 PM)

Buxton just hit his 2nd HR. This one estimated at 465 feet!
How do you spell power.

Mr. Ryan put on a pitching performance today!
Got to watch a complete game!

TJSweens -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (6/22/2023 2:39:20 PM)

Kudos Joe Ryan for returning us to the days when starting pitchers were men. Joe tosses a 3 hit shutout and the Twins win 6-0.
