Probably with the hope that they can fix whatever the issue is. Lopez has one more season of control as well.
they're not out much, Floro being a free agent after the season.

Time to trade a LH OF (Larnach) and 3B (Miranda) for Lane Thomas and Candeleria....throw in SWR and/or Austin if needed.

Other teams want a LH bat; find the one most desperate for Kepler or Gallo....then you still have Wallner and Kirolloff and Kepler/Gallo for LH OF bats.

Yeah that makes sense. Floro has better track record, but having an off year. Lopez has had an off career except for one great season. Marlins probably think they can unlock his secret, get him back to all star form and still have him next year, where Floro could end up being a rental.

Washington trade is going to be tough but get it done. I like the Floro trade; at least he isn't Lopez.

I don't understand why we are keeping him at this point. His at bats are embarassing. As long as the pitcher does not throw a gift meatball for him to crush, he's an automatic out.

Yeah that makes sense. Floro has better track record, but having an off year. Lopez has had an off career except for one great season. Marlins probably think they can unlock his secret, get him back to all star form and still have him next year, where Floro could end up being a rental.

One great HALF season.

There's a handful of guys in here that think Gallo is a player. They can tell you his OPS, GPS, PCP, BMI, LSD, exit velocity, launch angle, you name it.

Unfortunately, most of them don't know a damned thing about baseball. All I need is my eyes to see that that guy would never be on my baseball team if I were the GM.

I have always maintained that the organization has chosen to get rid of real hitters like Arraez, and have made additions of guys like Gallo. It's a bad philosophy. Arraez has a professional approach at the plate. Gallo has a Friday night, slowpitch softball league approach. He'd look great playing for Geno's Pizza.

Polanco flew with the team to KC and expected to be activated. Who goes? I'd send Sands out, but man, they gotta have that guy to mop up [&o]

Buxton should have been gone three years ago.

He can still be a great player. Not too late for him. but 1. If he can't play in the field he should be on the IL. and 2. He currently is trying to pull every damn thing out of the park. And he's striking out at an epic rate as a result. Tom Kelly would have benched his pull happy ass by now.

I am sick of watching him flail away hopelessly at a curveball in the dirt outside corksrewing himself into the earth trying to pull that ball to St Paul. Hitting coach is a joke.

Buxton thinks he needs to hit 40 HRs to be a stud. with his speed 25 dingers would be fine along with the 18 triples, 42 doubles, and 50+ Stolen bases he'd have if he were used right.

But clearly he isn't right this year. We've gotten this far into the season and the teams says he still can't play in the field. that means there is enough physical impairment that they can justify an IL stint until he can. It's about time because he hasn't been an asset lately. He's be a full blown liability.

Regarding your 2nd point, there are some believing his knee injury is forcing him mostly to pull, with less stress on the "chronic" knee.

Which sends me right back to your first point. IL him if he can't be in CF. One good game out of a month is as bad as Gallo.

Which is why the offense sputters. 2 of 9 are basically give-away at bats most games.

That's what i've read from a couple of speculators. If it's chronic, idk what can be done to rehab it to be in the OF. There has to be something.

Far be it from me to beat a dead horse, but why the f*** is Giovanni Moran still on the roster? Once again Moran is brought into a one run game. Once again he increases the deficit. Once again he doesn't last an inning. Cole Sands got sent down after never being used, yet Moran is allowed to prove over and over that he doesn't belong on a major league roster. He's on the roster because he is left handed and breathing. Moran is the embodiment of Rocco's insanity.

Duran needs a change up. With his fastball, a change thrown with the same motion is all he needs.

As opposed to the curveball he was throwing in the dirt yesterday?

I was watching gamecast not watching live and it seems to me a lot of the 86 mph stuff was in the dirt - maybe I'm wrong
