TwinsDaily is doing a five part series on how the Pohlads made their money......the first 3 parts are very bad publicly for the Pohlads.

TJSweens -> RE: Twins off-season (1/16/2025 7:45:54 AM)

According to LEN III, the amount of interested ownership groups for the Twins has reached double digits. They are confident that they will have a buyer by opening day. That buyer of course, will then have to go through the MLB approval process.

Apparently the pursuit of Sasaki has cost the LAD a few players they were going to sign on the 15th:

Mike Ferrin and Jim Duquette on Sirius XM this morning, according to my sources, the Twins pried center fielder Teilon Serrano away from Los Angeles late yesterday

Serrano is the 50th ranked international player this year. The Twins also signed #s 24, 26 & 43.

twinsfan -> RE: Twins off-season (1/16/2025 8:19:00 AM)

Roy Smalley has retired from Twins broadcasting.

Has Joe Mauer made enough selling cars to have a shot?[:D]

LEN says that a former Twin is likely to be part of any ownership group. He floated, Mauer, Morneau and Torii Hunter as possible minority owners. Their stakes would likely be 1% to 5%. LEN says Hunter has done really well in businesses outside of baseball.

Roy Smalley has retired from Twins broadcasting.

Too bad. He was the best they had at breaking down the details of the game.

Twins don't have a single game on Sunday Night Baseball this year. [X(]

You get to retire. Why shouldn't he? He's old. But yes, he is very good.

I don't see anything in Sween's Statement that says he can' t retire.

To me all he is saying is that he will miss the best color guy we've had recently.

At least we still have Glen Perkins. He's the best.

The "Legendary" Bob Uecker, Dead at 90

Trekgeekscott -> RE: Twins off-season (1/16/2025 2:08:37 PM)

The plan is to air pre- and postgame shows as well, and longtime “Twins Live” hosts Katie Storm and Tim Laudner have been hired to keep those roles.

Well shit

A movie that came out 21 years after Johnny Carson first called Uecker "Mr. Baseball".

boydster -> RE: Twins off-season (1/17/2025 7:56:31 PM)

From my post on FB

There are not many good ones left. Herb Carnel ( Twins ) and Bob Ucker were two of the best. And they are both gone.

Minnesota Twins @ Brewers

They lost three of those types and only signed about ten. All for some unproven guy named Roki Sasaki. And now they've signed somebody named Tanner Scott. A reliever who probably couldn't hack it as a starter. And a pitcher touring the NL West named Blake Snell. Meanwhile, the big names went elsewhere.
