WRs were open on critical plays we didn’t get to - Hock will give us a boost but he’s no game changer. Probably fill the space between Jones and Mundt stat wise. To clarify my ramble, I’m happy and surprised with Darnold. Statistically strong but he still has a lot learn, still needs a lot of seasoning. Naturally. Easier games coming up, which will allow him to suckle a bit more before empty-nesting into our playoff push, hopefully. We’re still in the thick of it which is great. Although not yet half way into the season. And Det has been more battle-tested what with them being in the playoffs last year. And it's kind of one thing (for us) to get off to a surprise start, but an entirely different thing to sustain that. Being favored in games during the season, making the playoffs, etc is good in the sense the team can learn it's about focus, effort, playing well under pressure, overcoming injuries, and so many other intangibles.

He's a great player for the most part. and better than Mundt, Oliver, Muse and Tonyan combined. He will definitely help this offense when he returns. But we don't know how his presence would have effectd this game. this was a coaching failure. They couldn't coach pressure on Goff, a key to beating the Lions right now. They couldn't coach a clock killing drive at the end. You play with the guys you got, not the ones you wish you had. Could Hock have helped? yes. Would he have helped? Maybe. Do we win if the only difference is Hock is on the field? No guarantee. The entire flow of the game would be different. I want Hockenson back. Opposing DCs can't be excited about having to defend JJ, Addison, Nailor, Jones and Hockenson all at the same time.

McCaffery Greenlaw and Debo will be back the last 8-9 games. I wouldn’t be so sure about that. .500 may win that division Phil, after losing the SB, many teams have a black cloud over them the next season, and many of them don't even make the playoffs the following season. I am not guaranteeing SF doesn't win their weak division, SF just isn't the regular season powerhouse they were last season. Maybe they will put it all together and get back into the Super Bowl, but right now they're 3-4 with lots if questions, and lots of injuries.

Feel like Mundt was a guy brought in primarily because he knew the offense and after a year or two he'd be jettisoned. Instead, he signed for a 3rd year. Cheap though, at $2M.
