Looking at the box score it looks like our TEs combined for 5 catches for 13 yards. Not even 3 yards per. Forgive me for thinking Hock can and will provide a nice boost for us in that department. Just an opinion that may be completely off base.

I don't disagree with this

It's good to know that our attitude is we're scared of the big bad Lions. Let's hope the team doesn't harbor that same attitude.

Seriously?

Now you’re just projecting shit that isn’t there.

Negative. It's been mentioned numerous times that the Lions would go after his knee.

How about look at the finish line not one game. What is more important game 6 or moving forward and contending? He had surgery in January.

In my opinion it would have been more important to play him today and rest him until after the Rams game. Would've been up 2 games in the division. Just my opinion.

Never before has one injured non-QB accounted for such an imaginary big division swing.

Just overall, injuries happen. To every team. It's up to the other 52 players and the (in our case) 53 coaches to step up.

Did you see our lead footed tight ends? I guess I thought Hock was widely considered a top 5 to 7 TE. My mistake.

There is no guarantee that Hockenson in the lineup would have changed the outcome of the game.

That's just random and idle speculation.

Hock is a good player but there is no way to know how things would have played out differently with him in the lineup.

Of course it's not a guarantee. There's no guarantee that we'll be better going forward with Jefferson on the field either. I know which way I lean though.

Darnold does need some seasoning but he did perform against GB, SF, and Houston....not as well against the Jets but played decent last week. It happens. KOC needs to get him there.

Still going to make a mint in the offseason.

For sure, Darnold has altered his course.

I don't know, the way he played against those teams / the way our offense played against those teams ... isn't really what we we've seen the last 8 quarters.

Not just Darnold but JJ and Addison and protection and playcalling and penalties etc ... its only been a game and a half since we looked unstoppable against a reeling Packers team ... so premature to judge ...

but sure feels like we got dinged hard in the GB game and fluttered back to earth.

Good to have a quick game after a loss for a fan that wants to believe. Against his callused nature.

I. Gonna go with shitty coaching.. and.. a QB wh can’t read the field calmly when under pressure..

Sitting at home.. watching him have to stand back their.. Pat… Pat.. Pat.. Pat.. then throw a tight widow pass to a guy in heavy traffic .

He completely missed opportunity to “ take what you given.. like jones in the left flat trying to tight window Addison, in heavy coverage traffic.

Not seeing safety undercutting his throw that lead to the interception… tunnel vision, not field vision..

One first down after we got the ball back after the go ahead TD.. just one… that is on coaching and playcalling..

Giving up 2 15 yard runs in a row after a punt…

The end of this game was a defensive failure on every level.

Sam Darnold is not “ it”.. he never was..
you Idiots, and you know who you are, advocating signing him to big money extension contracts and Trading away JJM for draft picks…?

Say that shit again.. in any form, tell me how Darnold deserves a big fat guaranteed contract with signing bonus money..

Tell me how many way we can trade our INJURED rookie for the “ one piece “ that Darnold and KOC needs to win it all..

Go ahead..

My block list needs to be expanded..

Darnold can’t perform under pressure, KOC coaches like shit..

Our defense can’t cover man to man, and our linebackers couldn’t cover 6 yards deep off the line in the middle of the field if we had ten of them and one safety.

You think I’m exaggerating?

Look at Geoff’s stat line and the individual plays…

He ripped our defense to shreds..

The DL and line backers were exposed as frauds..

There is a reason that the teams that are perennial contenders are perennial contenders…

The invest in bog body talent on the LINES.

We chase receivers and running backs with shitty blocking and QB’s with no balls.

Arron jones is a beast, but behind him we have petunias and crabgrass..

One first down.. just one.. and Detroit has no time outs.. can’t run the ball from their own 30 and the can’t get the pass play to guarantee the easy FG from 37 yards out..

Darnold and shitty coaching…

We are what we have been all season..

Darnold and shitty coaching.

Yet for the Packers and Jets you blamed it on the prevent.

Richard Neussendorfer -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/21/2024 5:18:47 PM)

Bill Jandro -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/21/2024 5:30:15 PM)

As pointed out Goff was playing out of his mind. Only like 3 incomplete passes one batted down at the LOS and two where a rusher hit his arm.

Darnold was also good but left a half dozen makable plays on the field by simply not making the correct read.

Greenard was literally inches away from a strip sack.

But even after all that we could have won the game with the ball at the 3 minute mark and went 3 and out. This has been a staple of O'Connell.

What would the storyline be if Goff's Olinemen don't recover his fumble with 4 minutes left?

Darnold will be fine. He needs a playmaking TE and we have one coming back.

Remember when I mentioned SF not making the playoffs the year after they lost the SB to the Chiefs, the losing SB team hangover, how it might happen a 2nd time?

This was right before the Vikings played them, and someone said something like "what hangover, they trounced the Jets in week 1?".

The Vikings started the SF downfall, and now SF is 3-4, with Aiyuk now out for the season, McCaffrey out for the season, Greenlaw is out, Kittle is hurt, Deebo has fluid buildup in his lungs, etc....
It might be hard for them to make the playoffs.

My point that has escaped you is that up to Sunday you were blaming the defense's inability to stop the opponent on the prevent d scheme. I had been saying it's not the prevent d but more about a lack of talent at CB combined with teams successfully probing then executing against our normal d. IOW... ah, forget it, that should be clear enough.
