Too bad. Of the Larnach/Wallner/Kirilloff crop I thought he had the most potential but ended up a distant 3rd mainly due to injury.

But he’s 26, he’s made a few million dollars. If he can get himself healthy, maybe not pro athlete healthy but living a normal life healthy, he should be fine in whatever next chapter he chooses.

Big congrats to the Los Angeles Dodgers

If it were any team but the Yankees they were playing I'd be a lot more unhappy...

In any case they showed that you can indeed buy a championship.

Good for them. The economics of Baseball are so ****ed up. The Dodgers have about three guys that make more than the entire Twins roster. A lot easier to win when you can lock up all the best players.

My prediction is 83 wins and a division title.

Pretty good!

Yes, you predicted mediocrity for the Twins. Very bold.

So go get Sasaki then. Super cheap for the next couple of years.

Wished they could have kept Corey Seager, but he was too $$$.

It was great how they somehow overcame the incredible amount of injuries to their pitching staff. Bullpen games in the postseason, who knew!

Keeping Treinen out there and using Buehler... balls!

Oh, and they also trade for players... usually by forking over prospects. Go get some and stop ur whine lol!

Goodbye Dave St Peter. He has either stepped down or been forced out.

twinsfan -> RE: Twins 2024 Season and Game Day Thread (11/12/2024 10:09:34 AM)

Hi goodbye letter basically says Derek Falvey will be playing the role of God.

Probably 5 years too late.

twinsfan -> RE: Twins 2024 Season and Game Day Thread (11/12/2024 11:35:52 AM)

The Twins have a new GM. His name is Jeremy Zoll.

TJSweens -> RE: Twins 2024 Season and Game Day Thread (11/12/2024 12:23:28 PM)

Zoll is an internal promotion. According to Falvey, Zoll has done most of the negotiating on trades last 3 years. Not exactly encouraging.

Why not?

Polanco trade. Couldn't have predicted Topa's injury. Desclafani was a throw in. the real prize were the two prospects and what did we give up? Jorge Polanco, whose skills have seriously fallen off the earth.

We got a lot for a guy everybody knew we weren't going to keep.

I'd say he did a good job, depending on how Topa bounces back next year and the prospects pan out...

The trade at the deadline was clearly mandated so the front office could say "see we did something".

And we gave up nothing of value in that trade anyway.

I will reserve my judgement.

Any perspective buyers??

twinsfan -> RE: Twins 2024 Season and Game Day Thread (11/20/2024 1:04:37 PM)

Aaron Gleeman

Looks like the Twins have re-signed Yunior Severino and Scott Blewett to minor-league deals after dropping them from the 40-man roster a couple weeks ago.

I seriously think Blewett is the worst name for a relief pitcher.

The Twins are in negotiations to acquire starting pitcher Jesus Luzardo from the Marlins.

You mean starter Jesuz Luzardo? He hasn't made a relief appearance since 2021.

Would Rocco know what to do with him? I mean, a lefthanded STARTING pitcher?

Depending on what we would give up to get him, I would like this pitcher.

He fits in. Sounds like he has arm trouble.

I wanted to trade for him last year.....shows what I know. He probably is cheaper after the injury last year. Sounds like it was a lower back injury though.

I thought I read something with his elbow too.
