Something called Pierson Ohl is being called up to take Paddacks spot in the rotation.

Hopefully the win last night doesn't give our FO hope. The market will never be hotter for Duran or Jax. Cleveland closer in gambling trouble and not many other top relievers up for sale.

It looks like Falvey has a price tag for both pitchers and he isn't moving off of it. He either gets 2 top 100 prospects each or he keeps them.

And Buxton has his yearly trip to the IL

It's his second trip after the concussion from running into Carlos "not worth his contract" Correa

I support that stance

And Ryan would cost even more.

Jax and Duran are two of the best bullpen arms out there, they are both cheap and under control for another two years. If you want to contend soon, like next year, you don't given them up. You build around guys like that, especially on a team with budgetary challenges created by cheap ass owners.

Ohl is a command guy. His walk rate (3.6%) is less than half the major league average (about 8%). He made adjustments to his arm slot and change up grip that jumped his K rate from 21% to 30% this year. He will probably be used as the guy who comes in behind an opener and goes 3-4 innings.

Boy, he sure looked good last night. [&o][&o][&o][&o][&o][&o][&o][&o]

He should be able to replace what Dobnak gave us.

Remember at the beginning of the season when St. Paul was going to be bursting with starting pitching prospects forcing their way up to the bigs? Here we are keeping SWR up, using openers and promoting Ohl. Opportunity came knocking for these guys. Morris, Lewis and Raya are getting beat like red headed step children in AAA. Festa had some brief moments, while Matthews is showing some promise in the show. Once again Falvey's young stud starters face planted in AAA.

Moldy cheese should be able to replace what Dobnak gave us.

Being slightly better than absolute shit...there's something to aspire to.

Dobnak got rich and happy.

Correa may be traded to the Astros. He said he would waive his no-trade clause.

Mark Anderson -> RE: Twins 2025 Game Day (7/30/2025 6:01:24 PM)

Phillies 4th and 6th rated prospects coming to Minny for Duran.

They are 56th and 92nd overall.

Pitcher Abel(6th, 92nd) is ready for Majors now.

Catcher Tait(4th, 56th) is slated to be ready in 2028.

TJSweens -> RE: Twins 2025 Game Day (7/30/2025 9:45:17 PM)

Once again, Falvey goes outside the organization for a starting pitcher because the ones he drafts and develops can't cut it. I have no doubt Abel will climb right over the in house starting prospects.

Falvey got his two top 100 prospects. I'll give him that.

Sounds like the Twins and Astros are far apart on Correa trade. Houston wants the Twins to pick up a bigger chunk of his contract than they are willing to pay.

When was the last time the Twins drafted and developed a true ace? Frank Viola?

Yep. All the way back to the Calvin Griffith organization .

Radke was good. I wouldn't call him an ace.

TJSweens -> RE: Twins 2025 Game Day (7/31/2025 9:04:22 AM)

As I thought, MLB.com slotted Mick Abel in as our top pitching prospect. They rate him #6 overall. They moved Tait in at #4 overall. What surprises me is that they put him ahead of Culpepper, who is tearing it up in AA.

Trekgeekscott -> RE: Twins 2025 Game Day (7/31/2025 9:35:50 AM)

Well the Pierson Ohl era didn't last long. already optioned back to AAA.

Now Noah Davis is a new major leaguer....

Morris? Raya? Where are all these great "prospects"

Trekgeekscott -> RE: Twins 2025 Game Day (7/31/2025 9:40:40 AM)

Seriously, Now is time to be bold and bring up the most promising of prospects.

Like Payton Eeles. The 5-5 phenom.

Marco Raya

Morris

Trade Bader and bring back Austin Martin

Trade Correa and bring back Eduard Julien.

**** it all.

If we're going to suck. Lets REALLY suck

TJSweens -> RE: Twins 2025 Game Day (7/31/2025 10:13:30 AM)

The guys I would like to see the rest of the way..

Mick Abel. We just traded an elite closer for him. Let's see what he can do.
Kaelen Culpepper. Jump him from AA. He's shredding the pitching down there. He could stick at short or go to 3B and move Lewis to 1B.
Luke Keschall: DH him with an occasional start in the field.
Payton Eles. A poor man's Jose Altuve. Hopefully without the cheating.
Connor Prielipp. Get his feet wet working out of the pen. Maybe as a bulk inning guy following an opener.

I'd add Walker Jenkins as well.

Duran trade symbolizes Twins' decades-old strategy: Sell, hope, repeat

twinsfan -> RE: Twins 2025 Game Day (7/31/2025 12:06:11 PM)

Harrison Bader has been traded to the Phillies. Why didn't they get that done yesterday as part of the Duran trade? Silly.

Johan. Rule 5 draft pick counts.
