Genuinely sorry to see NAW go. He’s a quality, dude, and a key contributor. But I’m fully resigned to the business nature of sports. In that regard, I don’t get too attached to players anymore. They come and they go. Whatever. And this was expected after Naz and Randle signed. And to be honest, he was probably the most easily replaceable. Notably by a guy already on the roster. Shannon Jr. Look for his role to be increased. At a cheaper price.

NAW is a very good player. Probably as solid of a 3 and D guy as there is in the league. Failed miserably as a lead scorer and reinvented his game completely as a terrific roleplayer. He's probably maxed out his abilities as he has a very limited handle and no ability to create offense, but he knows his role and does it well.

We'll be OK. Clark is an even better defender that shockingly shot 47/43/78 in his first year. And TSJ adds a wing dynamic on offense that this team has desperately needed.

If Clark is better, why wasn't he playing over NAW?

He's not better. At least not yet.

He has never been a favorite of mine, but is there any reason/chance of the Wolves making a play in the next 12 months for D Lillard services? As I understand it finances are basically completely removed from his situation.

Not sure when Dame would be ready to play. Maybe mid season, at the earliest? My guess is that he will focus on his rehab and keep tabs on how the season starts out in the fall. Then maybe put out feelers to select teams in January, if he thinks there's a fit and a chance for him to win a title.

Can a 35 year old Dame return and be as effective since he isn't a size guy? He is the same height as Rob although built bigger of course.

Some FA possibilities: Brogdon, Russ, CPIII, Dinwiddie, Lowry, Fultz, Exum but who would take 5 million or less out of the bunch.

That's my guess. Probably sometime after the trade deadline when things are falling into place, he'll see what contending team will be a good fit.

And he'll sign with them for the minimum for the rest of the season because there is no financial gain for him to sign for anything above that over the next 2 years.

David Levine -> RE: 2024-25 Postmortem Offseason and Draft (7/1/2025 2:19:17 PM)

This is the guy:

Chris Haynes:
Milwaukee Bucks are rescinding the qualifying offer of promising young guard Ryan Rollins and he will now become an unrestricted free agent, league sources tell me.

22 years old. 6'4 with a 6' 9.75" wingspan would be great to pair with Conley and Dilly.

Career 48/42/81 shooter. Averages 3 Stocks/36 and has been a significantly plus defender the past 2 years.

We need to snap him up.

twinsfan -> RE: 2024-25 Postmortem Offseason and Draft (7/1/2025 2:48:17 PM)

There's a guy that used to play for the Wolves that was doing point-shaving.

Yep and there are a couple of clips toward end of games with the Wolves and Detroit that doesn't help him. Going to cost him a lot.

Fitting. Garza goes to the place of the origin of the victory cigar.

It's serendipity I tell you.

Yeah, I saw those on Bluesky too.

Elliot -> RE: 2024-25 Postmortem Offseason and Draft (7/2/2025 2:25:19 PM)

Those of us wondering if there's going to be a bridge PG on the cheap can cross Dinwiddie off the list.

Yeah I for sure didn’t see it there.

A potentially good signing.

Ryan Rollins is no longer an option. He signed a 3 year deal with the Bucks yesterday.

Yep I saw that. Cole Anthony tops my FA wish list at the moment.

Seems Yanis is not fully committed to staying in Milwaukee? hard to say but seems like he is thinking in his mind.

We could offer a pretty decent haul of current players for him. The cupboard might be a bit thin for a season but with Ant and Yanis. However, I would think medium to upper tier players would love to take some form of discount to play with those two?
Maybe it's not an option but I would think you would have to give much of the farm to make that happen?

Anything we offer would get destroyed by other teams immediately.

He's a Top 3 player still in his prime.

If they trade him, it signifies a total rebuild, so they won't want Rudy or Randle. So, at a minimum, its McDaniels, Beringer, Dillingham and TSJ. We'd have to include at least one more team willing to take on Rudy or Randle to get the money to work. And we have no tradable 1st round picks.

And if we did get him without Rudy being included somehow, we'd probably still need to trade him because Rudy + Giannis does not work at all.

TJSweens -> RE: 2024-25 Postmortem Offseason and Draft (7/10/2025 3:42:12 PM)

Beringer had a good first half, 11 pts, 4 reb, 5 blks.

Really impressive. Can't deny that. However, if we're meant to rely on Rob/TJ/Clark to initiate offense? Man, I don't feel too good based on this game.

Clark was never going to initiate offense. He has zero PG skills whatsoever. I was very encouraged by TJ. He played a really smart floor game.

TJ looks like he is trying to round out his game beyond his downhill runs. He did play a smart game on offense.

I guess I just don't see it. He looked out of control trying to initiate the offense. Not sure what the brass has seen in his game that makes them think he can provide what Mike does.

We're talking about Shannon, not Dillingham.
