I've been saying it for a couple weeks now. Both guys are going to get us another first round exit if things don't change soon. They've been giving up brutal goals.

After last nights game it appears Gus has played himself out of starting game 1 in Dallas. When he is on his game he controls rebounds and the puck just stays with him when it hits him and that hasn't been happening for many games now. I sure hope Hynes doesn't pull the old, he has been our starter all season and has earned the net for game 1 BS when Wally has been the better goalie for a while now.

Gus is a train wreck right now. They can't undermine the best team they ever had by starting him in the playoffs.

Yup. I'm super worried this will be Dallas in 5.


Bad goaltending with Gus (the sheer numbers he's giving up are alarming but, IMO, it's the way they are going in. Right through him or terrible rebound control)
Defense is too sloppy right now
4th line is really the only real positive


A lot to clean up or this will be quick.

In my mind Wally showed last night why he should get the game 1 start, but that doesn't mean Hynes will go with the hot hand.
We really need to get a split in Dallas and come home tied at 1-1 with the chance to flip home advantage our way.

The games got bigger and Gus fell apart. He is the biggest reason Dallas is sitting with the higher seed. Gotta go with The Wall in game 1.

I'm not sure about that. I think Hynes' job is resting on this playoff series and he think he knows that.

After getting schooled by the Golden Showers last year and not ever winning a playoff series, he better not get cute. I don’t care that Gus is a vet, start the guy who’s playing better.

I agree.....I think Hynes will pull him fast if he struggles the first game (if he gets the first game).

The NHL wants the best rivalry games in the 1st round because that's when the most eyeballs are watching. It's unique to the NHL.

The game couldn't have gone any better. Wallstadt certainly earned that spot, and I like the discipline of our guys to NOT get into any melees. Good hits, took a couple of penalties, but made them take a couple too.

All in all - great game 1.

Now do that three more times. [:D]
