The Stars embarrassed themselves with yesterdays effort, so I'm expecting a major counterpunch Monday night. If we can withstand that and get another road win we just may be on to something, if we lose and come home even at a game each maybe not. We have been there many times only to lose out in 5 or 6 games. If we can get the same goaltending and all around effort from the entire lineup we are in for some fun hockey win or lose.

I have to reiterate stfrank's take on having a legitimate NHL 4th line. McCarron and the Folignos are a huge, strong grinding line that is just hard to play against. I swear sometimes the puck just gets sucked into their gravitational pull. Any line they play against exerts a lot of energy and ice time just trying to dislodge the puck. They throw the puck in deep and just pound, pound, pound. It really helps sustain the momentum created by the top lines.

The Wild have outplayed the Stars, the last two times in Dallas. Gustavsson did us in the time before. As long as Wallstedt stays sharp, we have a shot at taking another one.

Like I said, if we can get the same effort we have a real good chance of coming home up 2-0. I think Wally has taken over the net unless he falters and I think that is a good thing. They aren't saying what kind of illness Hughes had, but if it was something contagious I hope he stayed away long enough for it to not affect the rest of the team. It would really suck to have something like that blow up a really good chance at making a run....

I heard Hughes flew to Dallas on a separate plane.

Russo reported that also....they kept him away from the team until late Friday....he arrived in Dallas mid afternoon Friday.

Yeah, they showed him walking in with Billy. I suspect they were on Leipold's private jet.
