Just makes it all the worse that the Wild couldn't do anything against the Avs.

I would say we could, but didn't. Vegas showed us what happens when you play the right way every period. We only played that way a few periods and it wasn't close the rest of the periods.....

We also softened them up.

Claude Lemieux, 4x Stanley Cup-winning NHL player, died by suicide, TMZ Sports has learned.

Lemieux -- who was 60 years old -- was found at the family furniture business by his adult son around 3 AM after they became concerned that he hadn't returned home. The 21-year NHL vet was located in a rear warehouse.

Lynn G. -> RE: Wild 2025-26 Season (5/28/2026 2:23:22 PM)

Very tragic. We never know what other people are dealing with in their lives. [:@]

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Wild 2025-26 Season (5/30/2026 8:54:41 AM)

Awsome. We're getting the equivalent of a college football championship game of UMD versus Vermont in the Stanley Cup Final [>:]

stfrank -> RE: Wild 2025-26 Season (5/30/2026 10:10:32 AM)

I have no choice but to cheer on Carolina just because I love the way they play the game. I have always preferred the free flowing skating game over the dump and chase and ground and pound game. Such a shame that Bettman and his fellow Canadians would rather see the game return to the days of their hero Claude Lemieux. Not sure how much of the finals I will actually watch tho....not exactly a must see match up.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Wild 2025-26 Season (5/31/2026 10:09:10 AM)

Yeap. At best, it may be on in the background while I do such wonderous tasks like:

clean the toilets
scrub the floors
pick weeds
kick the kids

Phil Riewer -> RE: Wild 2025-26 Season (6/1/2026 11:27:27 AM)

So the Wild have 3 Asst GMs and no room to promote Judd Brackett who ran their drafts and was pretty successful.

We will see I guess. Probably more to do with Guerin trading away all the 1st and 2nds and Judd is bored than anything.

He drafted Quinn Hughes and the players who were traded to get Quinn Hughes.

LOL. there's nothing for him to do for the next couple of years.

Exactly, all of the tops draft picks are gone on trades.......

That is exactly what I see....no high draft picks, no promotion, and he is obviously a draft geek......probably staring out a window and playing Adele songs.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Wild 2025-26 Season (6/2/2026 9:30:05 AM)

Jokes aside (and good on the Adele pull [&:])...

He's a brave soul. Trying to do your best with that broke-ass franchise is a haul. No thanks.

What does Toronto have that we can give the draft geek? Hmmm......

We do seemed tied to players wherever Judd goes so maybe he can get us Matthews.

Lynn G. -> RE: Wild 2025-26 Season (6/4/2026 2:40:49 PM)

Marcus Foligno rightfully was awarded the King Clancy Memorial Trophy for the player with most notable leadership and community contribution. It's always nice to have players with high character on our team. Congratulations Marcus!

stfrank -> RE: Wild 2025-26 Season (6/4/2026 5:09:56 PM)

Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin has requested a trade, a league source told The Athletic.

The request, which was first reported by Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, could have franchise-changing implications for the Red Wings.

Larkin could be our 1C if BG can work out a deal with Yzerman....stay tuned.

Kudos to Marcus for his work fighting cancer and his support of kids in general. Not only a good hockey player but seems to be a top notch person as well.

I am already reading a package of Yurov, Stramel, Spacek and a 2027 1st round pick. One I am less enthused about, includes Jesper.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Wild 2025-26 Season (6/7/2026 10:35:59 AM)

Yeap. If it's my decision, i'm not giving up Jesper but I'm all for getting Larkin.

stfrank -> RE: Wild 2025-26 Season (6/7/2026 1:08:39 PM)

Yeah, I don't see us giving up Wally at this point with Gus a bigger unknown than he already was. Not real big on giving up 2 young centers either, but I guess we can work with that if needed. I'd rather see Hartman in the deal and we keep one of the younger Yurov or Stramel.

Phil Riewer -> RE: Wild 2025-26 Season (6/9/2026 10:50:27 AM)

McCarron resigns for 6/19.8 according to Russo.

I don't think we are getting Larkin without giving up Yurov and Stramel at a minimum. Dylan Larkin isn't Vinny Troceck.

Signed a 31 year old to a 6 year deal. And of course no Wild long term contract is complete without a no move clause.

The breakdown of salaries, by year, is: $4.5 million, $4 million, $3.4 million, $2.7 million, $2.7 million and $2.7 million.
First 3 years NMC and then 15-team no-trade list with a no-move that blocks him from being placed on waivers in the last three.
