Is it too early for predictions? I see the Vikes at 6-0 going into the bye and 14-3 overall winning the NFC North

I was so happy to see you post this. Even though I know you're a huge fan/supporter...your posts don't always read that way.

A major fault of mine is that I get confrontational/contradictory with other posters on small details. What starts as a discussion of minor differences in views on a topic blows up into all out war. I have poor control over myself in my 'need to be right'. I don't let that cloud my view of the team though.

Nice!

- are you exercising the right to change that last GB game?

Haha. Nope! Have you seen how the officials call the games there?

The only thing that approaches the sting of being wrong is the burn of not being right....You and I and many others on this site and throughout society share this woe.

We seek progress, not perfection.

Ah, good point - I was obviously thinking of the other angle

Is this factoring Aaron Rodgers not playing for the Pack?

No. Whether he plays or not we'll beat them at home and lose at LameBlow.

Bill Johanesen -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (6/14/2021 4:09:27 PM)

Agree with @Chicago L. At night. In late Dec. We fold like a cheap suit.

They run the opening kickoff back. They'll have some unknown RB run for 175. We'll string up four consecutive 3 and outs. They'll bang out multiple 50+ yard FGs, we'll be 0-3. We'll go with the run and Cook will end up averaging 2.2 ypc. Mack, after doing nothing since Thanksgiving, will be a terror.

Those meanies.

Usually the way it goes.

Right. I was there two years ago for it. Seemed like more than four consecutive 3 and outs, though ...

Last year it was in reverse.

They won here. We won there.

We beat them there in weather conditions that catered to our strengths and took away their strengths. That wind won the game for us.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (11/16/2021 9:08:12 PM)

It seems that every team is beatable this season. As soon as a team starts looking good, they get trounced.

Every team except the Packers who thought the 1st game was a pre-season game.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (11/16/2021 9:14:13 PM)

Championship matchups: NE at Buffalo, Tampa Bay at Green Bay

It will start looking like a NE/TB SB matchup, and the bettors will bet them, but one team won't make it. I am guessing that will be Tampa.

So we get New England and GB in the SB. I will go with NE as the winner, as Belichick is motivated to show it wasn't all Tom.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (11/18/2021 7:22:39 PM)

What teams would you put in the Championship games, and what teams would you put in the SB, and who would you pick to win the SB right now?

Hope that thought makes your day, your week you shameless troll.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (11/18/2021 7:52:27 PM)

So Bill, who would you pick to win the Super Bowl ?

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (11/21/2021 9:02:47 AM)

So you guys and gals think I nailed it with NE and GB in the Super Bowl, or do you think it will be a different matchup ?

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (11/24/2021 5:50:57 AM)

You had another week's worth of games, any other predictions on who will be in it, and who will win the Super Bowl ?

I am sticking with my prediction of NE over GB.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (11/29/2021 8:08:04 PM)

So everyone agrees with my SB pick ? Any other ideas on who will win it this year ?

I have NEVER picked the SB participants, even when choosing them right before the playoffs start. But this year, I think I have got it, and have gotten it quite early [unless either teams' QB gets knocked out for the season].

Brad H -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (11/29/2021 10:36:05 PM)

I don't see either of those teams making the Super Bowl. IMO, Arizona is the best team in the NFL right now. They are about to get healthy. Niners are also playing well. Tampa can't be overlooked. I still say Buffalo and Kansas City turn it around before the end of the season in the AFC.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (12/1/2021 1:26:40 PM)

Interesting take Brad.

I could see Arizona edging GB in a shootout, but I thought that would happen when the teams met in Arizona, but the Packers won. Hopefully a different result if they meet in the playoffs.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (12/1/2021 1:29:10 PM)

You're also right Brad, in that you can't overlook Tampa. I just have the feeling that if Tampa and NE are both in the Championship game, one of them won't make it to the SB.

KC seems too weak on defense, and I have some doubts on Buffalo. Sticking with NE over GB in the SB.

ronhextall -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (12/1/2021 1:54:32 PM)

Looking forward to the playoffs. Going to be some great matchups.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (12/1/2021 6:20:22 PM)

GB beat Arizona, in Arizona, without Adams and Lazard. Of course, Arizona didn't have Watts, not sure when he's coming back.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (12/1/2021 6:24:00 PM)

So we have 1 vote for NE to win the SB, and 1 vote for Arizona. Any other votes ?
