Nice job KG, I wish you were even more accurate, and hope you're 100% accurate in the playoffs.

Me too. [:D][sm=govikes.gif]

Vikings will be ahead by 4, around 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter, Hock will be fighting for extra yards, gets stripped and Detroit gets a defensive TD.

Kirk leads the Vikings to a tying FG, just before the end of regulation.

Mattison gets a game winning TD in OT.

Vikings 26 Lions 20 OT

Vikings 27 Colts 23

Colts lead at halftime, 4th quarter Kirk comes alive with 3 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. Defense seals it, Bynum INT.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (12/23/2022 5:36:27 PM)

The game with the Giants feels a little like the Detroit game, except this game is at home.

I think the Giants will prevent the Vikings from dominating the 4th quarter, as Barkley can be a strong 4th quarter player, running the clock, and keeping 4th quarter Kirk from pulling out the win.

Giants 30 Vikings 23

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (12/24/2022 3:25:17 PM)

Darn, should have used my predicted score from last week, would only have been off by one point.

I have drank the KOC Kool aid, and shouldn't have picked against the Vikings at home. I thought NY would get physical, the blitzing from their defense would be a problem, and I thought the Vikings would struggle to keep Barkley contained in the 4th quarter.

That was true, but Kurt was clutch again in the 4th quarter, turned it on after his near interception near the end of the 3rd quarter.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (12/31/2022 8:46:33 PM)

Initially I was thinking the Puke might achieve what the Giants didn't, an offense that runs the ball a lot in the 4th quarter, and keeps Kirko from doing his thing in the 4th quarter.

But I think some sort of fluke will happen, I am thinking Watson will fumble in the 4th quarter, letting the Vikes back in the game.

So the Vikes tie the game in the 4th quarter at 30.

In OT, Crosby converts a 61 yard field goal. The Vikings look like they're going to tie it, but in attempt to hit Jefferson, Jaire intercepts the ball, sealing a Puke win.

Vikings 30 Pukers 33 OT

Just can't pick the Vikings over his beloved Packers.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/1/2023 1:46:18 AM)

I think the Vikings COULD win, am doubting they will.

Would be an awesome upset.

Brad H -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/1/2023 10:22:35 AM)

Both experts take the Vikes and the points. The 37:00 mark of the video.

1. If we had a way of knowing I'd bet most Viking fans feel that way - learned pessimism

2. But in reality the upset is if the Packers win, imo - figure that rational out and get back to me.

The only thing in that interview Brad, the guy was saying that Vegas has been right a lot about Minnesota this year. ???

Does that mean Vegas has been favoring Minnesota by between 3 and 7 a lot this year ? Or does it mean the lines have been low numbers, and because they were close games, we will credit Vegas for being right that it would be a close game ?

For example, if the Vikes won a game by 3, and the line said the opposing team is favored by 1, would it have been just as accurate to have favored the Vikings by 6, or would that have been MORE accurate because you missed by 3 instead of 4 ?

The Viking lines have not been an indicator of their record. Vegas doesn't think much of the Vikings.

Take yesterday for instance. Minnesota entered 12-3 and Green Bay was 7-8. Yet, Green Bay was favored by 3.5. If Vegas thought Minnesota was any good, they would have been favored over an 8-8 team by at least 3-5 points (minimum).

Vikings 30 Bears 17

Irv Smith gets 2 TDs

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/8/2023 9:12:48 AM)

Lions 23 Pukers 30

Lions get some calls early on (to cover the fact the refs will be favoring the Pack in the 4th quarter, make it appear they're just evening things out), Pukers pull away in the 4th quarter.

The experts pick the Vikes today and give the points, but it isn't all rosy talk about the game. The 19-minute mark breaks down the game.

I’d be surprised if Irv get two catches let alone touchdowns.

He's got a better chance of getting hurt twice.

I think you may be right bigO, the refs favored the Puke early.

They gave the Packers the benefit of a PI, allowed them to commit a few PIs, may have allowed a Rodgers fumble to not be called a fumble (whistled dead), and a few other things.

I would say just a slight Packer bias. So they might give (as you said bigO) Detroit a few bones in the 4th quarter, after the Pack pretty much has control of the game.
