I always secretly pull for Gonzaga, but they've got their hands full with WKU.
I'll be surprised if the Zags win that one.
Michigan got a lot of what they have, took a good run at winning today.
Big Ten hopes rest of Purdue and MSU. Purdue is solid.
Texas hanging with Duke better than I thought they might.

Hey, its an "idea" more than a deep-seated love for them. [&:]
I'd feel the same way for Pepp if they made the tourney every year.
You know what I mean.
You were probably too young to remember when Gonzaga made big splashes in the tourney years ago.
Its that feel-good story we look for every year.
NDSU would have fit that bill perfectly if they had gone further and hadn't run into a solid KU squad.

Nah, I remember the runs.  Remember it all started against Minnesota with the BS "day before the start of the tournament" suspensions.

But I made sure those were erased from my memory the day I enrolled at Pdine.  [:D]

Wow, couple of great finishes here.  I was really hoping to get to see that PG matchup with WKU and UNC next round.  Not meant to be.

And wow, what a money play by Scheyer. Henderson's awesome and I love the guy, but man, Scheyer is just a guy I've always really, really admired.  He's my "favorite" on this Duke team.

Watching these games got me wondering. Which conference has the most players in the NBA? I guess I could go through every teams roster, but I'm lazy. I'm guessing it would be the Big East

Steve, I agree.  I've never been all that impressed with Harden.  I know earlier this year people were saying that this draft is going to be better than last and that Harden is better than Mayo or Rose.  I don't see that at all; never have.  The 2008 NBA Draft was a GREAT draft, and will prove to be worlds better than the 2009 draft overall IMO.

Yep.  I was really shocked that MSU beat USC, actually.  Walton saved them all day long.  Gibson's got some major issues with his footwork, shuffling a LOT.  Young saved Pitt too.  They've got to play a lot better than they have.  Still, things are setting up decently for them.  They "should" be able to beat Xavier, and unfortunately I don't see them having a ton of trouble with Duke.  Who is going to stop Blair?  Though Villanova would be an interesting game.

I still think UNC/OK, if it happens, could be the best game of the tourney.

Kansas definitely has talent. 

I still hate that half region of teams.  It's a clusterf**k in my opinion.

Pretty much going according to plan.
Some good tight games today.
USC gave MSU more of a game than I thought they would.
MSU may be hard for anyone to beat right now.

The officiating at the end of the Marquette/Missouri game was sketchy at best.  Of course Marquette also did their part in killing themselves by stepping over the line on the inbounds pass.  Didn't see any postgame presser with the Marquette coach, but methinks he wasn't gonna be praising the officials.

The Marquette coach was annoying as hell to me.  Personally I have not been impressed with the officiating throughout this tournament.  Some really inconsistent calls all the way through.  And the way the Gonzaga/Western game ended was a travesty as well.

I was going to say the same thing about the end of the USC/MSU game, it looked like an MSU home game.
EVERY call went one way. Not saying it won the game, but it was very questionable.
Thats one really interesting part of watching games where you don't care one way or another who wins, it makes you look at the officiating differently.
(I do anyway) Sometimes it just leaves you shaking your head.
I think the coaches have stayed pretty calm, I've been watching pressers for their reactions as well.

Duke won with some lucky bounces and a little home-cookin' from the officials, just to seal the deal.  Notice it's never an over-the-back call when a Dukie is going for a rebound.  Oh well. It's been that way for nearly 20 years now. 

The Marquette shooter was hacked on the last shot of the game.  Should have been 3 FT's, down 4 points, I believe.  Make 2, miss the 3rd and go for the rebound with about 2.5 seconds left (time left on the clock when he was hacked).  It's unlikely they would have pulled it off, but the ref has to have the decency to at least make the call.  What a joke.

Not true at all on the Duke game.  Heck, Singler only fouled out because of that complete BS call on the "foul" on the 3-point shot a few minutes earlier.  There were some inconsistent calls overall though.  Just like in the rest of the games.  But the MSU game was by far the worst IMO, and I'm not exactly a guy that "likes" USC, to put it mildly.

I was at the game, and I really didn't see it that way, and I was pulling for USC.  I really hate to lay it all on one player, but Gibson didn't even show up.  That was the most passive performance I have ever seen by a good player in a tournament game.  If Gibson had his head/heart in the game, they would have won going away.

Good to hear, I did notice USC wasn't complaining too loud, so you were probably seeing it a lot better than I.
Floyd started to flip out a couple times late, and then let it go.
Hate to see good players disappear at the most important times.
They needed Gibson and he was awol.
