Lynn G. -> General fantasy football chat (9/10/2007 4:37:52 AM)

We need a place to whine and moan in a generic thread rather than the specific threads about each league. I'll start: I'm off to a grand start - losing in two of my three leagues. The good news is that when the Vikings win I don't care as much. :itsgood:

Jim Frenette -> RE:General fantasy football chat (9/10/2007 5:55:38 PM)

I had Burress in one of my leagues and right after the draft I read he had back problems so when I set a tentative lineup I left him off and never followed up on hime. :bang: I had the Cowboys Def in one league and they gave me a whopping -7. I dropped them already. I need the Edge to give me 21 points tonight so I can beat the Schnibble's.

Lynn G. -> RE:General fantasy football chat (9/10/2007 6:14:32 PM)

Don't do it Edgerrin!!!

Jim Frenette -> RE:General fantasy football chat (9/10/2007 6:39:20 PM)
Don't do it Edgerrin!!!
Lynn, did you notice how many points I left on the bench?

Northland Lurkers -> RE:General fantasy football chat (9/10/2007 6:45:46 PM)

I'm doing the same as I always do - Crappy in leagues I care about; and amazing in ones I dont. LOL

Troy Newell -> RE:General fantasy football chat (9/10/2007 7:36:48 PM)

E. James better not have a big game tonight. I hope that OL is just as bad as it was last year. I had the Vikings D, R. Longwell, M. Harrison, A. Gates, that stiff (atleast this week) D. McCallister and I am still losing going into tonight...........though I do have 3 players yet to play and my opponent only has E. James.

El Duderino -> RE:General fantasy football chat (9/10/2007 8:32:03 PM)

Tony Romo put me in excellent position to win in one league. He also won the game for my opponent in another. I guess that's the risk you take when you play more than one league.

DeLain -> RE:General fantasy football chat (9/10/2007 8:46:08 PM)

I hate it when you have so many leagues that all have different players that when you are rooting for a couple players in one league that those same players will hurt you in another. In my one pay league I ended up with a whopping 11 total points. The league is pretty much TD dependent with yards only giving 1 point for 20. One INT = 200 yards passing. Pos Player Opp Status Projected Actual QB Philip Rivers -4 WR Javon Walker 5 WR Anquan Boldin 0 WR Kevin Curtis 2 RB Willie Parker 3 RB Reggie Bush 1 TE Bo Scaife 0 K Olindo Mare 4 DEF Baltimore 0 Total 11

Don't do it Edgerrin!!!
Lynn, did you notice how many points I left on the bench?
I hadn't looked before, but did since you asked. Ouch! That's gotta hurt. But you know what happens in FF. Next week you'll switch some of the players around and it'll be the OTHER ones that get the big points. It's always the ones on the bench that score for that week.

Punt.

Toby Stumbo -> RE:General fantasy football chat (9/10/2007 11:31:02 PM)

Looks like I'll start out 1-2 in the leagues I'm on from this site. Looking forward to being 3-0 next week. :scream:

Tim Cady -> RE:General fantasy football chat (9/11/2007 2:17:55 AM)

First time drafter in Chris' 12 teamer. I got done and pretty much thought I had no chance. I don't like my receivers and I have been whining about not pulling the trigger on AD. I currently have 116 points to Junkdogs 95. He has Vernon Davis left and I am in the middle of Carson,TJ and Raven D. I expected about 50 points from this team. Sometimes you just roll 7s. :shrug:

Lynn G. -> RE:General fantasy football chat (9/11/2007 2:50:58 PM)

Boy I just BARELY squeaked by Jim in the NFL.com league. Three points isn't much wiggle room. ... and then I got slaughtered in the other two leagues. Looks like my guys are going back to two a days until we right this ship.

Tim Cady -> RE:General fantasy football chat (9/11/2007 3:41:28 PM)

That was my best prediction this week Schnibbles over Woodchipper using the rock/paper theory. That and predicting I would beat Mallet by about a hundred in the Purple Reign. Actually I missed that one, I only got him by 50. Thanks again, for the tips and encouragement Jim! If things don't work for you with the WoodChippers, we can always make you a Vice President in charge of looking out the window for the Super Sweeties.

Easy E -> RE:General fantasy football chat (9/12/2007 11:20:17 AM)

If this is the complaining thread.. I had Stephen Jackson, Brian Westbrook going, and one more running back I could play. Between Brandon Jacobs, Adrian Peterson and Chris Brown.... Of course I choose Jacobs, figuring that Peterson would be spliting carries or even just playing backup in his first game. But I still almost started him... If only fantasy football were like horseshoes.... :bang: And of course, when I start Peterson this week, he'll probably be back to splitting carries. :whistling:

Steven JL -> RE:General fantasy football chat (9/14/2007 1:39:36 AM)

Playing in 12 team league with individual players a 12 man bench 3 flex players and complicated scoring... (Not this strib league) Finished the first week with 168 points, 2nd place was 143 and 3rd was in the 120s. I have a strong deep team at all positions except QB. The way the draft fell I ended up with Farve, Grossman, TJack, and JP Losman. Interceptions are deducted and fortunately for me the scoring system devalues QBs a bit. Anyway, this morning I get a trade offer through Yahoo. Trent Green straight up for Frank Gore. LMAO. The player has only one starting back as Brandon Jacobs and Vernan Morency are his #2 and #3 backs. lol. I picked Gore 3rd overall while Trent went in th 18th round at like 213 or something. So the guys is asking after the first week of the season if I want to trade the guy I took first overall for a guy I passed on 18 times. :shrug: I'm not going to ask if it's a good trade - needless to say. But to start? Last week TJack produced 9 points on my bench - all my other QBs were in the 2.x point range. I'm think Farve or Grossman (yes I know they both stink) but Grossman is at home against KC. Thoughts?

Toby Stumbo -> RE:General fantasy football chat (9/14/2007 1:51:17 AM)

I would go with Grossman as much as it pains me to say :cry:

Steven JL -> RE:General fantasy football chat (9/14/2007 2:11:10 AM)

Thanks that's where I leaning too. :bang: Maybe I should trade Steve Smith, Frank Gore, Antonio Gates, and Adrian Peterson to that guy for Trent Green. :rofl:

Toby Stumbo -> RE:General fantasy football chat (9/14/2007 2:32:20 AM)

:ucan:

DeLain -> RE:General fantasy football chat (9/15/2007 1:45:24 AM)

In my money league which 2 do I start of these 4? Adrian Peterson @ Detroit Westbrook @Philly against Washington Addai @Tennessee Ronnie Brown @ MIA against Dallas

Guest -> RE:General fantasy football chat (9/15/2007 4:30:49 PM)

why don't you ask the autodrafter.... :nahnah:

Easy E -> RE:General fantasy football chat (9/15/2007 6:34:28 PM)
In my money league which 2 do I start of these 4? Adrian Peterson @ Detroit Westbrook @Philly against Washington Addai @Tennessee Ronnie Brown @ MIA against Dallas
Not Ronnie Brown..... I like the other 3.... You just have to answer 3 questions. 1) Is Peterson the real deal? 2) Are the Iggles going to play like they did week 1, or was that an abberation 3) Can Tennessee hand with the Colts?

I think it was Lynn G. who mentioned about benching players the next week after a bad week #1, only to see them produce for you? I think there is a tendency to "over-manage" a FF squad. Assuming no injuries OR byes, one sometimes just needs to put his/her team on "auto pilot" and watch them perform. Then, after 5 or 6 weeks, you are then into your seaon, and you know which guys are 'studs' and which guys are 'flubs.' Good luck.

Che Oesterreich -> RE:General fantasy football chat (9/15/2007 10:29:52 PM)
In my money league which 2 do I start of these 4? Adrian Peterson @ Detroit Westbrook @Philly against Washington Addai @Tennessee Ronnie Brown @ MIA against Dallas
Agree on Brown as one to avoid, looks to be in a dreaded RBBC situation. IMO Westbrook is a must start (especially if your league gives REC points) and it's close to a toss up for Peterson vs. Addai. I'd go for Peterson if Taylor ends up being out, otherwise even though Tenn looked good against the run last week it's hard not to play any starting skill player from Indy.
