Then got revenge on TX 3-0 win.

Washington Sunday. Will be tough

Awesome. They finally found there hitting in the 6th inning of their second game. Texas really shut them down in game 1. The offense doesn't look to be as deep this year, so I was really worried about facing the pitching from the southern powers.

All we gotta do now is beat the #5 team in the nation back to back.

Despite losing Groenewagon, their head coach and some of their offense and playing a much tougher non conference schedule, they 3-peated as tournament champions and made it to the region championship game. Nice job by Jamie Trachsel and the team.

Former gophs great softball pitcher Groenewegen recently contracted Legionnaire's disease; has come out of medically induced coma in past couple of days. [:-]

Was curious

5 MN/13 non on the gophers roster. 2 international players

Concordia, perennial power, all 13 from MN

SW State Mustangs, 8 and 8...and "area" girls from Lakefield and Luverne and Minneota.Plus a freshman from Caledonia

Mankato has 6 MN/8 non

So, given Marshall has, in the past, been very good...where do those kids go play?

Marshall HS feeds the upper Midwest D2 schools
Quite a few from here have been all-americans at UND, NDSU, SDSU etc
Tracy still turns em out too.

Ok, so following up on that, and I have NO doubt they have

this year...

SDSU has 2 kids from MN, MACCRAY and Jordan
ZERO south Dakota kids

USD has 4 kids from MN, Canby and 3 from the Cities
Zero South Dakota kids

NDSU has 2 from MN, Rogers and Eagan
SIX from North Dakota

UND has five from North Dakota this year
five from MN Virginia, Centerville, 2 from Eden Prairie and 1 from New York Mills

Just a curiosity thing.

They've been down the last 3-4 years
Yup, I was talking more about the group 5-10 years ago
Girls that really weren't even "stars" here went on to great careers.
Griffin at UND was team MVP and All-American for her last couple years.
One of our friends daughters is a freshman at UMD, she will be in that category before she's done (from Tracy)
Helps that her Mom was an All-American here at SSU back in the day.
For some reason none of the Marshall girls stay here. they see plenty of the legend Terry Culhane growing up.
Not everyone can play for him.
