How on earth does Tubby still have a job (and an extension!)?

I sure hope he's been giving a cut of his paychecks to Rick all these years. He's still living off Rick's championship.

Now outscored 13-2 since the start. Dead in the water .

Mr. Ed -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/14/2013 11:38:31 AM)

Embarrassing. 19-2 run. 2 points in the past 10 minutes of the half.

Subs are clueless on D. Put Mbakwe and Hollins in. THey might as well, already down 21-9 with 6 minutes to go.

Corleone -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/14/2013 11:40:24 AM)

The sad thing is we're going to have to watch this shit again next week.  [:o]

Mr. Ed -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/14/2013 11:46:07 AM)

11 points with 2 minutes left in the half. Pathetic.

Back to hold the ball forever and desperate shot at the clock shot end.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/14/2013 11:46:50 AM)

Not even respectable. How embarrassing to the program.

FIRE TUBBY

Jim Frenette -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/14/2013 11:53:59 AM)

Terrible, just terrible half court offense. Same thing we've seen all year and Tuby can't make adjustments? Way to much standing around with ball and as soon as dbl team comes up, turnover. Pathetic. Need dribble penetration to open up shooters.

No tomorrow so no sense in leaving the 2 on the bench. If they foul out, then you go down fighting

Jim Frenette -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/14/2013 11:55:20 AM)

Welcome back Skils

Exactly. Hollins had 5 fast points. Streak shooter.

2 fouls? TOUGH. Leave him in a while. Zero to lose.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/14/2013 12:23:07 PM)

Down 3 w/14 minutes left. Hollins/Hollins shooting them back into the game, despite all the turnovers.

Pete M. -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/14/2013 12:51:29 PM)

Honestly I don't know if one 50-50 call has gone our way all day. Ugh.

Thanks Fargo.

Pete M. -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/14/2013 1:02:51 PM)

Fire him. Yesterday.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/14/2013 1:05:47 PM)

Hollins steps out of bounds because they can't get the doggone ball in bounds easily.

Please fire Tubby.

djskillz -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/14/2013 1:12:07 PM)

Turrible.

MN's got far too much talent this year to be an NIT team.

Tubby needs to go. Hire Flip.

Rumor people are trying to tie Teague w/his old coach

Shaka Smart

Fire Tubby and hit up the alums hard to pay for Shaka Smart. While there is still even a remote chance to get Jones, Vaughn and or Travis.

Tubby needs to go, but dear God in Heaven not Flip!

djskillz -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/14/2013 1:19:36 PM)

I'd love Shaka there. I just don't see it happening. He can get much better jobs than MN if he wants to leave VCU.

Pete M. -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/14/2013 1:24:25 PM)

I think Flip would be very motivated here. And I suspect his teams would at least show some signs of offensive competence.

Likely.

This offense failed to spread out the floor much. Guys sitting on top of each other. Watch highlights of other teams.

Horrible ability to adjust.

Even worse ability to inbound the basketball.

All fireable offenses.

Pete M. -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/14/2013 1:29:12 PM)

The inbounding thing is unbelievable. They look clueless on how to perform one of the simplest tasks in basketball. Most teams measure inbounding success on whether they can get a bucket or two per game off a well-designed inbounds. The Gophers measure success if they can limit their TURNOVERS to 1 or 2 on inbounds plays.

TJSweens -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/14/2013 1:33:27 PM)

Flip is a bad coach with no recruiting pipelines anywhere. Based on his conversations of KFAN, I doubt he is even interested in the job.

And it's not always the coaches' fault.

Coleman trying to throw over a 6'11" kid today? THINK out there!
