Middle Tennessee. Great record but who have they played? Not nearly the strength of schedule as Gophers.

We do have a common opponent, Vanderbilt. Gophers beat them 56-52. Middle Tennessee crushed them 71-48.

No. 5 Minnesota will play No. 12 Middle Tennessee State on Thursday in Milwaukee.

I love that we're playing close to home. Hopefully the fans will travel to the game en masse.

Playing in Milwaukee gives the Gophers a good chance to win the first two games. I live in Arizona and with the final four in Glendale I have to go with Arizona for the national title.

The gophers were a top 20 RPI team. Simple as that top 20 RPI means top 5 seed.

Agreed. Head/Head obviously means very little. Fortunately for MN.

I'd suck at being on the selection committee. I'd have a heck of a time putting teams like MN ahead of Wisconsin or Michigan.

I'm definitely a "what have you done lately" evaluator. And the Gophs need to get it together to win 1 in the tourney.

And lastly, I agree that not using much of a bench is not a good thing. Richard has decided he doesn't trust guys.

Going to be trouble in the tourney when a couple of iron men get in foul trouble.

that will be a big problem. He has to at least get one more guy up to speed that can give our back court guys a breather.

The only guy I seen come off the bench against Mich was Curry giving Lynch a blow usually after he picked up a foul.

Springs was missed in that game.

Basically the committee told Wisconsin to play someone in the non conference schedule...MN played some teams in the tourney. Vanderbilt, Mount St. Mary's, Arkansas and some that had their bubble burst....

SOS MN 17 Wisc 83....play someone Bucky in the non coference.

Why Not? Wisconsin had lost 5 of 6 before they got back on track and beat Minnesota. Michigan has come on strong at the end but their track record had not been that great before. Michigan State has several bad losses on their record.

I think people are just conditioned to seeing these schools seeded high. But they all had pretty ordinary years. It was a down year for the big 10. Well, maybe not down, but more evenly matched across the board.

We won 9 of our last 11. Wisconsin was 5-6 over the same span.

Does 1-2 vs 2-1 over the final 3 games make so much of a difference?

You think we beat Wiscy if we face them again?
I watched that last game against them ... start to finish.
Wasn't happening.
I saw them as better than us,. You guys didn't.
Splash all the numbers you want.
I'm goin eye test. In my old blurry eyes ... we are not better than them. All I'm saying.
Lets see what happens.
