How could this same team have been so awful against Illinois? I trashed them here after that game. And it was well deserved. This is a totally different team. I don’t get it.

Minnesota defeated Michigan State 81-56 at Williams Arena, the largest winning margin against MSU in program history. With the win, the Gophers are now 2-1 in conference play and 9-1 on the season. Minnesota has now won back to back games against top 25 opponents, the first time since 2013.

If Gabe K. can find his 3 pt shot, this team could do some damage this year. If Carr doesn't go pro we'll have the majority of the nucleus back next year with only 3 seniors leaving. Brandon Johnson and Eric Curry will leave a little gap of experience at F and little used Hunt Conroy won't be missed. We have a 6'9" sophomore and 6'10" freshmen to take those minutes.

I'm surprised to see Carr listed at only 6'2", same as Mashburn Jr. he plays so much bigger. Granted he's got 20lbs on him, but I figured he was more like 6'4" or 6'5".

We finally have a bench....Freeman and Williams look usuable.

It really could have been 45. If the Gophers hadn't gone turn over crazy for a stretch and if Gabe could ever find his normal shooting stroke, the margin would have been so much bigger. Michigan State just looked over matched.

It is amazing how Pitino picked up 3 Big Ten quality graduate transfers and also Carr came back. What would really be nice is if the team is really good and a couple of these transfers stay another year.

Unlucky Gophers? Don't think so. I think the luck was with us this year.

With the Gophers length....I am surprised we didn't use more zone against Iowa. We actually have some guys that are good defensively this year.

This will be a much deeper draft, but if Carr's shooting holds up he's an easy 1st rounder - and possibly a lottery pick.

Yeah I was thinking more of Gach (JR), Johnson, and Robbins. Carr coming back is a pipe dream.
