33% chance today we are in a dogfight to the finish.
33% chance we get clubbed.
33% chance we club THEM.

I completely disagree with the third option.

Reverse jinx!
I see what you did there!

Brooks basically demoralized Purdue single-handedly.
That tap-tap hammer run where he sought out guys to punish, was hilarious.

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/10/2015 5:28:21 PM)

and, when its 38-6, you hammer home a TOUCHDOWN here.

Not us, we practice the 2 yards short of the sticks pass to the flat with our backup QB. [:-]

Hate being an ass, but that's what good teams learn to do.
They leave no doubt.
We back off.

A Berkely Edwards sighting! [:-]

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/10/2015 5:43:22 PM)

I like it.
Back-ups go to practice, too.
Let em run.

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/10/2015 5:44:20 PM)

Badgers go up 17-14 over Huskers with 10 minutes left.

I didn't know he was still on the team. Must have him stashed on Kill's special will only see the field when we are up by 20 team.....
I am hopeful we get to see Jones on the field some time before he graduates too.

ALWAYS have to let them have a junk time TD
ALWAYS have to.

stfrank -> RE: Gopher Football (10/10/2015 5:57:42 PM)

Wozniak was so shocked to have a ball hit his hands without bending down or diving that he dropped an easy one....

It looks like we may give them another just because we can.

All in all, nice win.
Sorry for the whining today, but we've got so many issues.
(I just realized what someone from Purdue must be feeling) [:D][:D]

Lets get healthy and lets get better. Please?
Michigans the real deal.
Outstanding D. Nebraska and Wisconsin are a horse apiece, damn tough beats.
Miles to go before we sleep, yes miles.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Gopher Football (10/10/2015 6:41:31 PM)

You guys have said but I'll echo it, again. I have no idea what goes on between Kill's ears sometimes. They continue to trot out ML at QB and it just makes me insane. The color guy today had multiple instances of "you can't win if your QB can't hit a simple 5 yard swing pass".

If you watch the offense, it's tailored around the fact that ML sucks. That shows that they know but aren't going to sit him. They refuse to let him sit in the pocket and try to deliver the ball. I actually LMAO at one point. The game was getting a bit out of reach but it was still "doable" by Purdue. It was first and goal at the 7. They called a straight QB sneak. Not a draw, a "put your head down and try to pick up that yard". It was the epitome of pathetic. How can a recruit want any part of an offense like that?

When your passing offense sucks as bad as ours, and you are up big, drop back and try to work on some things.

The powerhouse that stomped our asses, and held our sorry asses to ZIP, got shutout today 38-0. Let that sink in. And, Michigan is a year or 2 away from really making noise, IMO.

bstinger -> RE: Gopher Football (10/10/2015 7:10:21 PM)

Nice win, surprised how bad Purdue is after they played Mich St. tough last week. We looked much better but I think that is just due to Purdue's ineptitude that signs of our progress. Brooks is a heck of a RB. D was ball hawking today, but that is mostly on their QB play. We will likely be destroyed by most of our Big 10 opponents.

Nebraska should be a win. [:@]

Lynn G. -> RE: Gopher Football (10/11/2015 11:35:06 AM)

Steve - I have to tell you that I felt such empathy for Nebraska at the end of that game yesterday. Partly because I feel like I've been there - watching my own team(s) figure out the most improbable ways to keep losing, and also partly because I was so hoping that Wisconsin would lose so that for the first time in about 10 years (just off the cuff number there) the Gophers could be ahead of the Badgers in the standings.

So in the match-up of Nebraska vs. Minnesota next week, the test will be to find out which team can blunder it away the worst.

I appreciate that Lynn. The Huskers are the only college team I follow more than the Gophers. Wisconsin is one of my 3 least favorite teams.
This Nebraska season has been the toughest we've had in decades. Loss after loss on either the last offensive play or in the last minute of the game. I had higher expectation for the Gophers this year. At least one will win next week.

The Gophers could be right there in the midst of a disastrous season, except they've figured out how to pull out 3 close wins against bad teams. The Purdue game was the first thorough blowout.

The rest of the way isn't going to be easy.
