When things are not going well, it's easy to scream for the coach to be fired and the QB benched. In fact, that's what the average rube will do. I'm all for Gray the rest of the season if he's actually the better guy, but I'll defer to the coaches on that. I wonder why he hasn't had more chances so far? - The coaches see these two every practice and so far Weber is the unquestioned starter. - Weber is a Mason recruit; Gray is a Brewster recruit. If there is any allegiance, it should be to Gray. - Ultimately, these results mean Brewsters job. Why wouldn't he start the guy he thinks give them the best chance to win? If Gray does start or get significant playing time, it should not be this week against a team like OSU. Give him a shot against Illinois or SD State. My best case senario is that Weber finally gets it together & Gray gets some playing time this year. Next year, Gray uses his redshirt and Alipate becomes a capable #2 as a redshirt freshman. Then the following year when Weber is gone, Gray & Alipate battle it out, both with 3 years of eligability left. Parish will be there too if he's legit. As far as the spread goes....many might not be aware, but here in Minnesota we've already had several days where the temp has not gotten above 40. There has been a lot of rain, plus the normal Minnesota wind. It's still 10 days away from November. Since we now play outdoors, the only smart thing to do is build a team that can run the ball. That hasn't happened yet (obviously), but it will. And when that happens bring on all the spread teams that dare, especially in November. I like our chances........until the bowl game anyway.
