And he's played virtually every down for those three years.
No need to feel sorry for him.
Right now his team is not functioning offensively.
And its not Junior High. There are other people (supposedly) recruited to get the job done, just like he was.

Karl,

I respect your opinion as much as anyone on this board.  And I am not a knee jerk reaction type of guy or someone who looks to place the blame on the coaches constantly.  I don't think we should pull the plug on Brewster, but the fact that he's had 3 different systems for Weber in 3 years is not giving Weber a good chance to be successful.  Watching him play now, it's hard to believe he was 2nd team All Big 10 just last year.

The spread is everywhere.  RichRod was brought to Michigan to put it in, and their weather isn't much different than ours.  I agree that in cold weather running the ball and playing defense are very important, but I don't think you should tailor your team to something you have no idea about season to season.  The weather could be seasonal, it could be crappy, you never know.

I think we agree on the bottom line, though.  Until we significantly upgrade both lines, we will not be a factor in the Big 10, and we'll be exposed against the PSU's, OSU's, and Iowa's.  We'll be lucky to make it to a low grade bowl every year until we get some hogs.

Oh my.
Lighten up, Francis's of the world.
No one died.

So.Mn.Fan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/24/2009 10:33:26 AM)

Walking into a hornets nest today.
The OSU fans are PISSED off.
We may be looking at one of those awful "whole lot to nuttin" days.
The Buckeyes are gonna make an example outta us.
Weber will probably do nothing again, and get another free pass.

So.Mn.Fan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/24/2009 11:22:25 AM)

Then again, the Buckeyes are a mess ...
Still giving up too many big plays on D.
Just cannot stop teams on third and long.
Still seems to be a speed/talent issue.
We're better in that regard but still have a long way to go.

So.Mn.Fan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/24/2009 11:24:51 AM)

Arghhhhh.

Jason Dorn -> RE: Gopher Football (10/24/2009 11:30:04 AM)

About time the offense gets a TD.

Jason Dorn -> RE: Gopher Football (10/24/2009 11:49:32 AM)

Might have to go to Gray at Q, offense is struggling.

So.Mn.Fan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/24/2009 12:06:52 PM)

100 minutes, no points on offense.
But not Webers fault at all [&o]
ESPN crew ripping Gopher squad .... as totally undisciplined.

So.Mn.Fan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/24/2009 12:10:13 PM)

Gotta agree with the crew ...
plays are open, plays are there to be made, players NOT making them.

Matt Dahl -> RE: Gopher Football (10/24/2009 12:35:02 PM)

The pass interference was a joke.

The late hit was a joke.

But the biggest joke is the Gophers offense.

That's at least 6 consecutive scoreless quarters for our offense. Yeah, that's big time college football.

So.Mn.Fan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/24/2009 1:05:19 PM)

Great screen call....

Hey, did you hear? LeBron James talked to Pryor this week,
Geez, you could do a tiny bit more prep, ESPN.

So.Mn.Fan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/24/2009 1:06:39 PM)

Our RBs used to get 12 yds with that hole.
The OLoine isn't great, but its BS that they are the whole problem.
We have no quick-hitting backs.

So.Mn.Fan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/24/2009 1:09:25 PM)

Execution of this offense?
I'm all for it. [&:]
Doing nothing and we're only down `14-0
Just like last week, defense doing enough to compete.
Offense doing nothing.

So.Mn.Fan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/24/2009 1:14:27 PM)

Unreal .. watch OSUs OLine ... they are TACKLING, not blocking ... and no calls.
The next call we get there will be our first.

So.Mn.Fan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/24/2009 1:18:20 PM)

Good God, Pryor throws a terrible ball.

So.Mn.Fan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/24/2009 1:19:02 PM)

One hold finally called out of a dozen on every play ....

Jason Dorn -> RE: Gopher Football (10/24/2009 1:21:24 PM)

It has to be Marquis Gray time, Weber is pressing.  Two turnovers gives the Buckeyes the game.

So.Mn.Fan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/24/2009 1:21:51 PM)

Offense getting going?
Those are 30 yard drives, Spielman, you dipstick.

Jason Dorn -> RE: Gopher Football (10/24/2009 1:22:46 PM)

2 games and counting without a point, have to shake it up.

So.Mn.Fan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/24/2009 1:24:53 PM)

Theres no way someone who has played three seasons should be this bad .... he's missing passes by 15 yds, not feet, not inches, yards ...

So.Mn.Fan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/24/2009 1:26:24 PM)

Scared
From the top down
Disappointing

So.Mn.Fan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/24/2009 1:27:23 PM)

THERES a worthwhile college class.

The QB shuttling is a joke, go with one or the other, make a decision this is what Brewster is paid to do.  Frickin joke doesnt help either QB or the offense.  Who is the man? Pick one and stick with him.

So.Mn.Fan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/24/2009 1:29:00 PM)

Agree on that, Jason .... rinky-dink to shuttle like that.
