A W is a W, but that was a putrid game from the defense. Northwestern averaged 8 pts a game against power 5 schools and they put up 3 TD against us with their backup QB.

Glad to have this one out of the way. An upset loss would have really derailed the season. Bring on the battle for the Axe...and a West title.

Should be rooting for Ohio State in that one. Likely better bowl implications for Gophers if Ohio State continues winning and become a clear cut entry to the final 4. Or even if Gophers could somehow beat Ohio State in Big Ten Championship, so much the better if Ohio St was undefeated at the time.

Don't overlook Wisc. We haven't won anything yet.

They were getting beat up front. Looked like the Gophers relaxed after getting up 21.

I remember being excited about the Gophers and Badgers playing in the early 60's. I met one of the players on those teams. I think he told me that he played both offense and defense. When the Gophers played the Washington Huskies in the Rose Bowl, he said Murray Warmath made the team practice so hard that they were literally exhausted when the game was at hand.

The Buckeyes look like a semi pro team. I don't know which team we will face next Saturday. Wisconsin seems to be rather inconsistent as of late, but they certainly have a talented team even capable of beating the Gophers by two scores. They may not be so eager to have to face Ohio State a second time, though. If the Gophers can get a good start they very well can win this one. I think they have the psychological edge for this one.

Penn State is great at making halftime adjustments....we have to use whatever blueprint they used. Iowa used Penn State's adjustments against us.

There is already a Wisconsin linebacker talking smack about going to Minnesota and taking "our ax" back. I don't know if it is the same one who was mouthing off earlier in the year that Minnesota didn't win the ax, Wisconsin gave it away.

Many were pissed about the Iowa loss...but rarely have I seen us almost pull a game out where we are down 20-0....half time adjustments and we were back in the game in the 3rd and Iowa had to hold on as we were coming. We are very well coached and a couple of catches away from completing the comeback.

Penn State proved that the Buckeyes bleed.
They aren't invincible. That was important.
Michigan might loosen them up even more.
