Penn State proved that the Buckeyes bleed.
They aren't invincible. That was important.
Michigan might loosen them up even more.

Penn State really impressed me....their coaches figure a way even with a Freshman QB. PJ has a little easier job with Morgan, Johnson, Senior RBs.

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Football (11/25/2019 11:24:30 AM)

The Iowa loss was damn-near inevitable in my old eyes
I moved on quickly, and according to PJ, that's what the players did too
He said they were ready to play 10 minutes after that loss in Iowa. That's huge.
Shake it off, and get right back after IT.

Phil Riewer -> RE: Gopher Football (11/25/2019 11:46:15 AM)

Iowa played a perfect 1st half and we played an almost perfect 2nd half.

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Football (11/25/2019 2:08:14 PM)

No. 12 Wisconsin at No. 10 Minnesota (3:30 p.m., ABC)
Wisconsin's back-to-back losses against Illinois and Ohio State briefly knocked the Badgers out of Big Ten contention, but Minnesota left the door open with its loss against Iowa. The Gophers could still make a CFP case, though, with a decisive win here and an upset of Ohio State.
You like big, burly manball? There's plenty of burliness to go around in this one, though the most intriguing matchup will take form when Minnesota decides to pass. The Gophers are dynamite through the air, but Wisconsin has one of the best pass defenses in FBS.
SP+ projection: Minnesota 29, Wisconsin 28

Mr. Ed -> RE: Gopher Football (11/25/2019 2:12:54 PM)

From what I saw Purdue did plenty of damage in the air

They couldn’t stop the Wisconsin rush attack

Badgers would have won by more if they hadn’t fumbled some

Phil Riewer -> RE: Gopher Football (11/26/2019 7:19:10 AM)

Martin was a little banged up last game....hope he is all systems go vs Wisconsin.

bstinger -> RE: Gopher Football (11/26/2019 9:20:40 AM)

Weather looks like it will be bad for the game which will ground our aerial attack. [:@]

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Football (11/26/2019 9:52:42 AM)

With our line's size, and the usual stable of damn-good running backs, we should be able to run the ball as well as anyone. IMO
And Morgans pretty damn stable at QB.
Wiscy's DBs better keep their footing.
I'd say its a horse apiece ... who the weather will help.

The weather could actually benefit our slant route passing attack. That is to say, Sconnie d-backs may struggle with it more than Johnson and Bateman.

Bill Jandro -> RE: Gopher Football (11/26/2019 6:01:36 PM)

Johnson and Bateman need to bring their A game.

No dropped passes please.

Steve Lentz -> RE: Gopher Football (11/26/2019 7:04:05 PM)

Limit Taylor and win game.
Wisconsin defense not that impressive to me.

Looks soooo conducive to passing.

Wisconsin is out a starting CB and a safety for a half for targeting....they will figure out a way.

Badgers had to resort to constant blitz in the second half to slow Purdue

Taylor is a great back

Long passes won't be there, but quick slants could take advantage of the elements.

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Football (11/27/2019 1:40:14 PM)

Damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn this is a big one.

drew -> RE: Gopher Football (11/27/2019 3:12:28 PM)

HUUUUGE. I think if we win Saturday, Rose Bowl is worst case scenario. I've never seen that in my life.

It's kind of fun being the team in contention.

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Football (11/27/2019 3:16:42 PM)

I was 1 the last time they were in it.
One.
I barely remember it.
That's unreal. I'm really, really, old.
I was One.
Wow.
No program should be this bad, this long.

Phil Riewer -> RE: Gopher Football (11/27/2019 3:54:57 PM)

I bet there will be a lot of folks having fun tomorrow in the snow....6AM is when tailgating starts....

Bruce Johnson -> RE: Gopher Football (11/27/2019 4:56:45 PM)

This gives me hope!

Wind hurts the passing game. Bad footing generally favors the route runners.

Yep, and the slant passing depth reduces the impact of the wind.

kgdabom -> RE: Gopher Football (11/30/2019 12:20:57 PM)

I'm watching the oSU/Michigan game to check out our competition in the Big 10 Championship game. Close to halftime and not a punt yet. However, Michigan fumbled inside the oSU 10 and the Buckeyes took over. oSU can't stop the Michigan passing attack, but Michigan can't stop oSU at all. Hoping for a large oSU winning margin so our victory over them will be that much more impressive.

kgdabom -> RE: Gopher Football (11/30/2019 12:31:30 PM)

Michigan forces the punt, but then jumps offsides giving oSU a new set of downs. Refs let OPI go uncalled and now buckeyes in command 28-13.
