Look at what great photos of mom they'll be able to show off to their kids when they're older. His friends already have her pictures pasted all over their bedrooms.

So sweet.

Actually I like that one of her there with Hank

Now she has some other ones that aren't so classy

Yeah - I guess I wasn't thinking of the ones in which she's actually wearing anything.

Interesting article about the 2006 draft that proves you can't really judge a draft until 3 years later.

Texans are looking brilliant for that draft at this moment.  Looked really stupid then.

I thought this guy was the bomb for awhile, wondered why he disappeared off the map.

CLEVELAND -- Former Cleveland Browns receiver Joe Jurevicius sued the team and the Cleveland Clinic on Friday, saying the team misrepresented the cleanliness of its training facility and blaming doctors with negligence over a staph infection in his right knee that kept him from playing last year.

[image]http://assets.espn.go.com/i/headshots/nfl/players/65/1485.jpg[/image] Jurevicius
The lawsuit alleges that physicians Anthony Miniaci and Richard Figler failed to warn Jurevicius that therapy equipment was not always sanitized at the team's training facility in suburban Berea.
The filing was first reported by the The Plain Dealer on its Web site.
An NFL physicians survey of the 32 clubs determined there were 33 MRSA staph infections leaguewide from 2006-08. The Browns had at least six players stricken with some sort of staph infection in recent years.
Jurevicius has said he contracted staph following arthroscopic surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in January 2008. As a result, the lawsuit said, "Jurevicius may never be able to play professional football again."
Jurevicius, a die-hard Cleveland fan who attended Browns games as a kid, was released by the club in March.
Fred Nance, an attorney for the Browns, said Friday the lawsuit is being reviewed but that the Browns deny its allegations. He said the team's facilities are compliant with all NFL requirements.

"In fact, an independent professional review earlier this year concluded that the Browns have taken appropriate steps to prevent MRSA infections at their facilities," Nance said.
Erinne Dyer, speaking on behalf of the Clinic and the doctors, said there would be no comment on pending litigation. Browns spokesman Neal Gulkis said the team was preparing a response.
In 11 seasons with the New York Giants, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Seattle Seahawks and Cleveland, Jurevicius had 323 receptions for 4,119 yards and 29 TDs. Jurevicius set career highs with 55 receptions and 10 TDs for the Seahawks in 2005.
The legal filing in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court included an affidavit by Dr. Bonnie Bock, an infectious diseases specialist from Newport Beach, Calif., who said her examination of the case showed that the player's staph infection was due to circumstances outlined in the suit.
"Sterile techniques were not at all times used at the Browns training facility," she said. "Therapy devices commonly used by multiple Browns players were not properly maintained, disinfected or cleaned, if at all at the Browns training facility."
The lawsuit asked for damages totaling more than $25,000, plus unspecified punitive damages, attorney and expert fees and related costs.

Vick Leaves Construction Job to Work with Boys & Girls Clubs
    Tue Jun 30, 2009

AP reports suspended NFL star QB Michael Vick is leaving a job with a Virginia construction company to work with youngsters at Boys & Girls Clubs. Steven Kast, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula, says Vick will be working with children on health and fitness activities at several clubs in the Hampton Roads area. Vick was a regular at the Boys & Girls Club in Newport News as a youngster. "We were disappointed by some of his recent actions and decisions but believe he has learned from these experiences and is now conscious of his obligations and responsibilities as a prominent sports figure that impacts and influences our kids," Kast said in a written statement. Vick needed a job to meet the conditions of his probation and had been working as a $10-an-hour laborer.

Steve McNair has been found dead in Nashville, the victim of an apparent murder-suicide or a double homicide.

Really sad news.  He was a great QB.  Never the eye popping numbers, but in his prime he was a guy who you wanted leading your team.  If he'd have gotten one more damn yard on that drive he'd have been though of much higher.

If his GM had of drafted Moss in 98 instead he would have gotten that yard!

Bears Don't Want to Curb Cutler's Aggressive Style
    Sun Jul 5, 2009

The Chicago Sun-Times reports the Bears do not plan on curbing QB Jay Cutler's aggressive style. Cutler can make every throw on the field and should benefit from the presence of RB Matt Forte. One knock on Cutler has been his decision making. Sometimes he counts on his arm too much to slide the ball into spots it shouldn't go.

    [&:][&:][&:]

Cutler fits in perfectly with the you-gotta-suck-to-play-QB-in-Chicago!  [&:]

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/07/05/rest-of-the-story-on-cutlers-off-field-focus/

In response to an item posted earlier today by Aaron Wilson regarding the Bears' new starting quarterback, a league source has given us the rest of the story that resulted in Jay Cutler hiring entertainment lawyer Jeff Jacobs, apparently to eventually manage Cutler's off-field opportunities.

Per the source, Jacobs replaces Marty Garafalo, who previously served as Cutler's "business manager."

The source explains that Garafalo was heavily involved in Cutler's affairs, including the creation of his foundation -- and its transfer to Cutler's new home of Chicago.

In fact, we're told that Garafalo traveled to Chicago to help Cutler with various matters relating to the move from Denver.  And then, once Garafalo returned to Denver, he was fired.

By text message.

(At least it proves that Cutler knows how to send text messages.  When he wants to.)

And so the manner in which Cutler parted ways with Garafalo is prompting some league insiders to wonder whether Cutler truly has matured since being shipped to the Bears.

------------
What a maroon.

A Chicago quarterback thinking that he's going to have a ton of "off-field opportunities."  Apparently nobody's told Jay Cutler that Chicago is where quarterback talent goes to die.

What Options Does Derrick Brooks Have?
    Fri Jul 10, 2009

The St. Petersburg Times suggests that free-agent LB Derrick Brooks' agent should call Chicago regarding his client. The Bears are very good at linebacker. That said, Brooks would have a comfort level with HC Lovie Smith, his old linebacker coach, and GM Jerry Angelo. After that, perhaps Indianapolis. The Colts still play former HC Tony Dungy's defensive system, and the linebackers there aren't exactly Canton-bound. Besides, Brooks always was faster on turf. Call No. 3 goes to Minnesota. After all, this is a win-now season for HC Brad Childress. And if QB Brett Favre is young enough at 39 for the Vikings, then Brooks should look like a teenager.

    Thousands Attend McNair's Funeral
    Sat Jul 11, 2009

AP reports QB Steve McNair is receiving one of the biggest funerals in recent Mississippi history. The hearse backed up next to the floor of Reed Green Coliseum on the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi to deliver McNair's silvery-gray casket. McNair's wife, Mechelle, and his mother, Lucille, were escorted in by police. Former NFL QB Brett Favre sat a few rows behind the McNair family. Titans HC Jeff Fisher and QB Vince Young, Baltimore LB Ray Lewis and Chicago QB Jay Cutler also are attending. At least 4,500 turned out, though organizers had anticipated a capacity crowd of 8,000.

    UFL Announces Rule Changes
    Sun Jul 12, 2009

The Boston Globe reports the new United Football League (UFL) announced a bunch of "innovative" last week and among them is getting rid of the "Tuck Rule." The fumbling edict made famous in these parts by Patriots QB Tom Brady in the 2001 AFC Divisional playoffs against the Raiders makes it impossible for a quarterback to fumble if he's pulling the ball back after making a forward passing motion. In the UFL, a fumble will be ruled so long as the quarterback is not moving his arm forward to throw a pass. Another interesting UFL rule is that each team will have a chance to possess the ball in overtime. Overtime will be sudden death only after each team has possessed the ball.

NFL's Uncapped Year Unlikely to Benefit Many Players
    Mon Jul 13, 2009

ESPN's John Clayton reports the NFL's uncapped year in 2010 will mean fewer benefits for players and very little free-agency signings. In an uncapped year, the minimum service time for unrestricted free agency jumps from four years to six, and a team can keep a player's rights for longer and cheaper.

    Koren Robinson Staying in Shape
    Mon Jul 13, 2009

ESPN's John Clayton reports free agent WR Koren Robinson is staying in shape and waiting for a team to call. Injuries in Seattle or Green Bay could put his name on speed dial. Robinson did well in his role for Seattle last year, and he appears to have cleaned up many of off-the-field problems.

    Tony Romo Dumps Jessica Simpson
    Mon Jul 13, 2009

FoxNews.com reports Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo has dumped girlfriend Jessica Simpson. Romo parted ways with Simpson on Thursday, a day before her 29th birthday. A source close to Simpson told People Magazine that she was “heartbroken” at the news. “She loves Tony. But it's been difficult lately. He's busy with his career and she's getting ready to shoot her show 'The Price of Beauty.' They decided to part ways.”
