Seriously, our congressman have nothing better to do than worry about the NFL and MLB?

I hate this, I really do.

There're looking out for us. The NFL is holding this over the fans heads in hopes we call the cable companies so they get their greed way. Someone has to make them accountable for us.

djskillz -> RE: RE:NFL News (12/20/2007 4:56:58 PM)

But seriously, I'm an NFL fan too.  Congress doesn't have better things to do/can't "look out for us" in better ways than worrying about our NFL viewing ability?

They can't vote on bills all day long. All these bills go through committees so might as well keep the rest of these guys busy. Look how many go out on campaign trails instead of staying in  DC.

How would you feel if Thompson was still in the Senate and wrote the letter.

I'd hate it.  And I don't think he'd do it.  He realizes there are better things to accomplish than this too.

I'm not exactly "outraged" by this; our government sucks and we all know it.  But it's still just another thing they're wasting their time on vs. something better.  That's all I'm saying.

Hell, next thing you know they'll be wasting their time looking into baseball.

I thought tonights game was in St. Louis, seems like a lot of cheering for the Steelers. [:-]

Could not agree more djskillz. When these people get to work on making health insurance affordable (one amongst many, many items), then and only then should they turn their attention to sports.

Give a pol a chance to get their picture/name in front of us and watch the frenzied efforts.
It's a sad state of affairs IMHO.

Sad day for Willie.  Guess AD's chances are better for the rushing record now though.

I wonder if that changes Pitt's approach.  You'd think they'd go with a bit more power running with Najeh now.  Who knows.

T.O. Apologizes About Jessica Simpson Comments
Thu Dec 20, 2007

  • The Dallas Morning News reports after a media firestorm was created with his comments about QB Tony Romo's girlfriend, Jessica Simpson, being a distraction, WR Terrell Owens said he was joking and that he's sorry. Owens, speaking before the Mavericks-Suns game at the American Airlines Center on Wednesday night, said he apologized to Romo for all the confusion and added that he wants to speak to Simpson as well. "I tried to get [Romo] to call her so I can explain to her that she doesn't really know me and that I can be funny," Owens said. "And that everything I say, the media will take it and run with it. It's not a big deal. I will try to rectify the situation between her and I."

    Whatever.......

I never minded Troy Smith.  If he was 2 inches taller, he'd be a 1st rd pick.

It is really sad that his height would weigh so much in where he goes in the draft.  Too short...Isn't his skill enough?

Well, that really messed up my fantasy team in championship week.  I'm guaranteed to lose now.

To me, this really hurts Pittsburgh in the playoffs.  Najeh is not as good as Parker.

Jim Frenette -> RE: NFL News (12/21/2007 12:14:03 PM)

Looked to see what games we get early Sunday, and on 1 channel it is the Pakers & bears and the other Lions & KC

I don't care to see either game. Isn't there better games they can show us? Makes me miss my DTV with the foorball package and I could watch what ever game I wanted.

Toby Stumbo -> RE: NFL News (12/21/2007 12:20:57 PM)

    Jim,

I just heard that KFAN will be broadcasting the Eagles/Saints game at that time - and since that game has playoff ramifications for us - it could be interesting.

That would be a much better game to watch, except for maybe Brian[:D]

The surprising thing about Pittsburgh is how bad their defense is playing lately.

Big Ben is a stud - like I have been saying for years.  But the defense was really having trouble

    Great stuff, Scott.

I keep saying it; I LOVE Montana, but Brady is quickly becoming the greatest QB of all-time.  If they win this year, he's got as many SB titles as anyone.  And he's still young.

John Childress -> RE: NFL News (12/22/2007 3:57:16 PM)

I don't know.  He has shown increasing arrogance on the field and fathered a child out of wedlock off the field.

    Not such a great guy

Great QB, not a great guy

Bart Starr is the greatest QB of all time if NFL titles are the measure of the QB's career. Starr however, is not young.

This seems to be a fact that many overlook in asessing the greatest QB"s of All Time. At least with regard to NFL Championships won.
