Oh, let me go play where the QB can't hit the WR in stride so I can tee'd up by DBs.

Jackson...Oh, Clearly you think it can't get any worse than Jackson...there is no point in discussing this with you.

We expect the Vikes to sign all the free agents but we don't expect any of the free agents to want to sign with the Vikes.  We're screwed either way.  [:o]

Sharper: Walker Wants Out of Denver --
Mon Jan 14, 2008

The Denver Post reports Minnesota Vikings S Darren Sharper talks to WR Javon Walker almost daily. He said he knows exactly what the Broncos wide receiver is feeling. "He wants to get out of there," Sharper said Sunday during the Colts-Chargers AFC divisional playoff game, where the Minnesota Vikings safety was doing television work. "I know all about it, and he wants out. He's not happy. He wants the ball. He doesn't feel like he's part of the offense." On Dec. 31, Walker said he didn't fit in anymore. Last week, on the Lewis and Floorwax radio show, Walker backtracked some. But Sharper said Walker's true feelings are to leave. Still, Sharper said it's his advice for Walker to stay in Denver. "He has a young quarterback who is good in (Jay) Cutler and has another great receiver in Brandon Marshall," Sharper said. Walker has $5.4 million in option bonus money coming his way, and it appears the only way he will remain in Denver is by taking a major pay cut.

He wants the ball? Didn't he miss most of the games this year because of injury? I had him on one FF team where I had to sit him.

NEW TROUBLE FOR PACMAN
WSB-TV in Atlanta reports that Titans cornerback Pacman Jones allegedly punched a woman on January 3 in a North Atlanta strip club.
And the woman whom he punched is a lawyer.
The incident allegedly happened on January 3.  The lawyer, Wanda Jackson, alleges that Jones entered a manager's office, accusing the club among other things of stealing money from him.  She says that, during the meeting, Jones lunged at her several times.  She also alleges that, in a hallway after the meeting, he reached around a security guard and punched her.

He can't keep himself out of trouble, can he?

Or out of strip clubs it seems.  Where a lot of his troubles occur.

Is Wynn available?

Sure, you can get worse but that is not the point.

The point is that it is clear that he is not good enough to win championships.

No, what is clear is that he is not good enough NOW to win championships.  He does have a way to go, but the situation is not hopeless with him.  You are giving up way too soon.

ESPN/Mort is reporting the Titans are canning Norm Chow.

Now is the Vikes' chance to get a real OC...

I wonder how much input Fisher had in this decision?

Duane Sampson -> RE: NFL News (1/15/2008 1:52:05 PM)

Chow probably threw a fit behind the scenes when they drafted Young instead of his USC guy. That might have caused a rift that got worse? Maybe.....

John Childress -> RE: NFL News (1/15/2008 2:33:28 PM)

Yeah, like that Leinart guy they passed on is working so well!

We have no idea of Chow can coach pro offenses or not.  We don't know how much was Young's lack of development, how much was poor WRs, how much is Fisher meddling.  Remember, it took Fisher half a decade to unleash Steve McNair as a passer.

And Shiancoe

And Kleinsasser

And Mixon

ANd etc etc etc

Either way, we can't afford to put all our eggs in the Jackson basket for 2008

Williamson has shown that he just can't catch the ball.  He worked hard in the offseason and it didn't work out.  TJack has shown flashes that he can lead the team and win games.  Give him some better receivers, better schemes to take advantage of the 8-9 men in the box we are facing, another year of experience behind him will help.

That being said, I have never once said they don't need a better situation to push him or even take his job if he struggles too much or regresses.  I truly believe that a pick up is necessary.  We can not go into next year with TJack as the starter and Bollinger and some other rookie, or reject as the primary backup.  We need a QB that can actually step in a win a game if TJack gets hurt or falters.

Nobody is saying put all our eggs in one basket.

Kleinsasser did not become the pass catcher many hoped he would be, but he did become a VERY good blocker.

Just because a guy hasn't been a lights out amazing player after a total of 14 career starts, does not mean you give up on him.  Yes, we need a QB that can push or even take TJack's job, but he is by no means done, cooked, or whatever you want to call it.

djskillz -> RE: NFL News (1/15/2008 3:29:57 PM)

I'd still take Walker.

TJack will be fine.  Get Volek as a great backup!

Leinart sucks.  Young sucks (right now).  Chow didn't deserve that with no WR's on the roster and bad qb play.  He should go back to college and dominate.   If he returned to USC, they'd start winning titles again.

Lastly, on Pacman, if you were in an athlete fantasy death pool, how much money do you think you'd have to spend on him as the #1 pick?  I mean, I am literally shocked that he is still alive.  I really am.

I think it is only a matter of time before one of his "posse" shoots and kills him accidentally.

Jim Frenette -> RE: NFL News (1/16/2008 10:58:54 AM)

From ProFootball.com

On Tuesday night, the Florida radio station WDBO posted a story on its web site saying that a temporary injunction had been entered against Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss "for protection against dating violence."
A couple hours later, the station pulled the report without explanation, leading us to wonder if the station had jumped the gun, and whether the Randy G. Moss who had a restraining order against him was just a guy who happened to share a name with a football player.
But now WDBO has posted a copy of the order to its web site, and it is the Randy Moss who plays for the Patriots, unless there are two people named Randy Gene Moss who were born on 2/13/77, are 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds, and live in Boston.
For the Patriots, this could become a distraction at exactly the wrong time, although so far this season the Patriots have shown an amazing ability not to let anything distract them.

Jim Frenette -> RE: NFL News (1/16/2008 11:09:46 AM)

Randy has already made a statement saying he has never put his hands on a woman and this woman is trying to get money out of him. As quick as Randy responded to this and the history of people trying to exhort money from famous people, I tend to accept Randy's word right now.

Duane Sampson -> RE: NFL News (1/16/2008 11:11:30 AM)

Yeah, me too Fargo. Seems odd that a married Moss would get into a "Dating" problem....

Jim Frenette -> RE: NFL News (1/16/2008 11:15:49 AM)

When did Randy get married?
