I posted my support for Carr few weeks ago and some people on here were squarely against that pick. I'm not saying Carr is going to be a super star NFL QB, but he sure has shown enough to be in the conversation. I've watched him a few times this season and have come away impressed.

So, I asked him about Cam's second season measuring up to his rookie year. Sure, Cam had better stats than RGIII this season, but it was a pretty hefty drop from his rookie year. (I'd have to look up the stats) After explaining to him that RGIII was rushed back from injury and probably wasn't healthy all season, and defenses were able to figure him out a little (same as Cam) and it comes down to RGIII and his coaches to make adjustments for RGIII going into this next season.....much like Carolina did with Cam. I'd take RGIII if we had a decent coaching staff in a heartbeat. Coach that kid up right and I think he has a real chance to be great. Just my opinion.....Was a nice debate last night. As soon as I changed the subject to Cordarell Patterson I was like their best friend. LOL I had a little bit of a problem with one of the guys saying he was slow.....but for the most part we all agreed he's going to be something special.

Watched most of the Fresno/USC game and Carr did looked Ponderesque with the exception of his first TD pass. Glaringly inaccurate all day.

Hadn't seen any of his play previously this year so will withhold judgement on wanting him but his year's stats weren't too shabby.

Some people just judge players how fast they are mostly by how fast their legs are moving, not by how much ground they are covering. Patterson DOES sometimes look slow, but he is covering A LOT of ground with a wide stride.

CPatt makes the rest of the players on the field look like they're in slow motion. Kid is absolutely electric. NE should've picked him, they seem to be against drafting speed

Johnny Manziel has yet to declare for the upcoming NFL Draft, much less play a down of pro football, but that isn't stopping one scout from proclaiming the Aggie quarterback could be the next Joe Montana.

"He reminds me a little bit of Montana," the unnamed scout told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal. "Fluid, and even though he's off-balance he can get the ball out. He's a smaller guy but he has big hands for a little guy. He's fun to watch."

The scout did not mention where he expects Manziel to fall in the draft, stating it will be a four-way contest at quarterback between him, Teddy Bridgewater, Derek Carr, and Blake Bortles. But according to many mock draft boards, the former Heisman winner is quickly moving up the boards, even landing in the top 10 in several.

Manziel has no doubt had a stellar college career in just two seasons as Texas A&M's starter, taking home the Heisman Trophy his freshman year, but it might be too soon to dub him a three-time Super Bowl MVP, and Hall of Fame quarterback. After all success in college doesn't always translate to results in the NFL.

The trick here is whether Clowney can be taught to behave himself.  Jared Allen was on the verge of a seaon long suspension when the Vikings nabbed him up in trade.  Finally got it through his thick skull that he needed to shape up.  and he did.  The rest is history. 

Can Clowney do that?  Do we have anyone that will be on the roster that can mentor him into behaving better?

Normal human beings are taught to behave themselves long before they turn 20.  but for many a freakish athlete, they get away with more shit that the average person as they grow up so it takes a mentor in the NFL to straighten them out.  Some players learn and grow.  Others don't.

Pacman Jones was a trainwreck for several years.  Now he's a solid contributor on the Bengals.  You don't hear about him for off the field shit anymore, even though he got into some serious shit before. 

One can learn to behave themselves AFTER 20.
