I think six teams is ideal becuz at that point, it's not a big deal to leave out anybody. You would essentially have the power conference winners plus one at large team. Team 7 might cry foul, but it's akin to number 65 (and now 69) in the NCAA tournament selection.

8 teams is ideal. Then everybody plays and there isn't 5 weeks off for the top 2 seeds.

This Stave guy from Wisconsin is dreadful.

Richard Neussendorfer -> RE: College Football (Future Vikings!) (1/1/2015 2:44:00 PM)

Man Auburn couldnt beat a team quarterbacked by Stave? Wow.

Bill Jandro -> RE: College Football (Future Vikings!) (1/1/2015 3:14:54 PM)

Melvin Gordon is going to be a stud on Sundays.

Reminds me of the hopped up version of a Demarco Murray.

Andy Lowe -> RE: College Football (Future Vikings!) (1/1/2015 3:31:09 PM)

Jeff you could be dead on with Gordon

That was impressive

what was not impressive was Stave! He was the MVP for Auburn.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: College Football (Future Vikings!) (1/1/2015 3:52:02 PM)

Yeah dude is good.  I wasn't surprised that ppl didn't want him at 11 but I was surprised that him being a stud wasn't more adopted here.

i think many have fell into the group that a stud running back does not get you very far in the NFL.

i disagree, but opinions vary

now, of course you cant have a stud RB matched with the suck beyond all suck and a Frazier led defense.

you will not get far with that crew,

but a stud RB and Teddy with a zim led defense may be fun to see how it shakes out

I could be talked into it if we didn't have a large number of very glaring holes.

But IMO, a great RB doesn't make up for a mediocre offense. But a very good passing game can make a mediocre RB look pretty great.

A good line will make an avg back look good. Let's go with that

Agreed.

I just can't get behind using big resources (picks/salary/etc) on a position that the NFL is doing everything in their power to make obsolete.

RBs just don't carry teams anymore. We made the playoffs 3 times with AD, and the only time we were a threat to even get out of the WC game was when we had a feared passing attack.

Would you like to have the best RB possible? Absolutely. But RB is a distant 4th to me on offense - after QB, OLine and pass catchers.
