You're being nice to the Boston team.

(I'm thinking Crash Davis when he got thrown out).

What does the NL have against Greinke? [&:][&:]

LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks got into a wild brawl after pitcher Zack Greinke was struck by a pitch during their game Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium.
Arizona pitcher Ian Kennedy looked toward the Diamondbacks' bench before he hit Greinke in the left shoulder in the seventh inning. Greinke was the third batter hit by a pitch in the game. Greinke had hit Miguel Montero in the back with a pitch the previous half inning, and Dodgers rookie Yasiel Puig had taken a 92 mph fastball off his nose in the sixth. After Greinke was hit, Kennedy and Arizona manager Kirk Gibson were immediately ejected by umpire Clint Fagan, but the action was only beginning. Greinke was allowed to stay in the game and took out Didi Gregorius with a hard slide.
Puig, Dodgers hitting coach Mark McGwire and Arizona assistant hitting coach Turner Ward also were ejected.
Players from the benches and bullpens emptied onto the field. The teams formed a scrum near the Arizona on-deck circle, with several punches thrown. Dodgers reliever J.P. Howell slammed Ward into the railing of the camera well. Dodgers manager Don Mattingly could be seen yelling at Montero. Gibson and McGwire were nose-to-nose at one point.
In April, Greinke broke his left collarbone in San Diego after a brawl sparked when Carlos Quentin charged the mound after being hit by a pitch.

Gibson and McGwire!
I'd pay to see that one!
Awesome!

Nice dustup in LA.

Guts: Hit .201 in the bigs last year, only .168 in AAA this year, and criticize the team on Twitter.

President Theo Epstein summed it up this way: "[It's] pretty obvious that it's not appropriate to criticize your manager in your organization on Twitter." Triple-A Iowa third baseman Ian Stewart was suspended without pay by the Chicago Cubs for his Twitter rant about his status in the organization. ... Stewart's agent called for the player's release, as Stewart suggested himself during a late night tweet to his followers. Epstein said the Cubs have begin conversations to "negotiate" a settlement in which Stewart will be allowed to become a free agent. But left unsaid was that Stewart will have to forfeit the remainder of his $2 million contract if he wants out. "He had the right to elect free agency and decided not to," Epstein said.

Oakland is 13 games over .500, and that's with Reddick hitting .188

Major League Baseball suspended five players, two managers and fined four others for their participation in the Los Angeles Dodgers-Arizona Diamondbacks brawl on Tuesday night.

Dodgers hitting coach Mark McGwire also received a two-game suspension for his conduct during the incident.

Diamondbacks pitcher Ian Kennedy set off a benches-clearing brawl during the 5-3 loss after he hit Dodgers rightfielder Yasiel Puig in the face in the sixth inning.

That came on a 1-2 count with one out and the bases empty and Arizona leading 2-0. Puig stayed in the game and then Andre Ethier followed with a game-tying home run.

Diamondbacks catcher Miguel Montero was hit between the numbers by a Zack Greinke fastball on a 2-1 count. That resulted in the benches clearing but no actual fighting.

The suspensions and fines are as follows:

Kennedy received a 10-game suspension for intentionally throwing a pitch in the head area of Greinke in the bottom of the seventh inning, after a warning had already been issued to both Clubs earlier in the game;

Diamondbacks infielder Eric Hinske received a five-game suspension for leaving the dugout and for his aggressive actions during the incidents.

Dodgers pitcher J.P. Howell and infielder/outfielder Skip Schumaker each received two-game suspensions for their aggressive actions during the incidents.

Dodgers pitcher Ronald Belisario has received a one-game suspension for his aggressive actions during the incidents.

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly has received a one-game suspension for the actions of his Club and for his conduct during the incident.

D-backs manager Kirk Gibson received a one-game suspension for the intentional actions of Kennedy after a warning had been issued.

Fines also were issued to Greinke, Puig, Montero and Diamondbacks outfielder Gerardo Parra.

Another notch in my "great pitchers" theory belt.
The old days are gone.
The best pitchers in baseball these days ....have to be perfect to win games themselves.
Too much offense (everywhere but here)
It's all about the bats baby.
The leagues best pitchers are on good teams. No coincidence.
Their offenses are good and they support those good pitchers.
They're confident before they even step out there.

If the Mets get some consistent offense, and they don't have that at all, Harvey and the new kid will set up one awesome foundation.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/yankees-put-1b-mark-teixeira-195554720--mlb.html

Kevin Youkilis needs back surgery and Mark Teixeira returned to the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with an aching right wrist, the latest injury setbacks for the depleted New York Yankees.
Youkilis will miss at least 10-12 weeks after he has the procedure in California on Thursday. He had gone back on the DL last Friday.

Just like the thought of that.

Old school.
