HOF for Rollins?

Real close.

Beltran, In.

I think Rollins will go the route of Alan Trammell. Never considered the best at his position, except for maybe one year, and people still wouldn't have really considered him the best that year either. HOF voters are very weird about this kind of thing.

But it will help him that the SABR guys will be voting.

But a negative for the SABR guys.....that career 95 OPS+ is tough to justify for a Hall of Famer, even a shortstop. Surprisingly low.

Personally....I don't know....he's borderline for me. Won't have a big problem either way. Baseball-Reference metrics put him in. 121 on a 100 "likely HOFer" scale.

Worst SB% success rate, minimum 200 attempts

Greg Gagne 52.9%
Pete Rose 57.1
Dave Parker 57.7
Lenny Randle 58.2
Alfredo Griffin 58.9

Best (min 200):

Carlos Beltran 86.4
Tim Raines 84.7
Eric Davis 84.1
Shane Victorino 83.4

I think Dave Parker should have made the HOF. Bad SB% or not.

Chris Parmelee waited a decade for a night like Wednesday, for a moment that so many players he knows will never experience. After Thursday night, his moment will have to wait longer. Shortly after strengthening his case as starting first baseman by driving in the Yankees’ first run with an opposite-field single, Parmelee was hobbling off the field with an injured right hamstring. Manager Joe Girardi said he would be “completely shocked” if Parmelee wasn’t placed on the disabled list

Ahhh, the inevitable things in life .....

Mr. Ed -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (6/13/2016 2:40:09 PM)

With Hunter Pence on the disabled list due to a torn hamstring, the Giants are “looking everywhere” for another outfielder, reports Bob Nightengale of USA Today Sports (on Twitter). To that end, they’ve had preliminary discussions with the Brewers about Ryan Braun, according to Nightengale, though he also cautions that there’s nothing imminent between the two teams.

Posey on one of those runs again
What a great great player and career.

The closer Ichiro Suzuki gets to milestones, the bigger his media following becomes. About 50 Japanese media members were on hand Monday to watch the 42-year-old sensation inch closer to another significant benchmark.

Ichiro had three hits, scored two runs and had an RBI in the Marlins' 13-4 win over the Padres at Petco Park. After he slapped a single down the third-base line in the eighth inning, he moved 23 hits shy of 3,000, and one away from matching a standard reached only by Pete Rose.

Rose holds the Major League record of 4,256 hits.

When you combine the 1,278 hits Ichiro had playing nine seasons in Japan for the Orix Blue Wave, Ichiro sits at 4,255 professional hits.

SoMnFan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (6/14/2016 12:28:19 PM)

Ichiro has been a wonderful player to watch.
Good on him
Shame on Rose for the typical American response

Ichiro is a phenom. Best pure hitter I can recall watching play baseball. And he has added tenure and durability to his resume. He is everything that so many players are not. He cares! [sm=icon_salut.gif][sm=notworthy.gif]

I noticed the Angels RF (forget his name), has exactly the same body makeup of Mike Trout. Must be using the same brand of PED's.

I'm not so sure Trout is on PEDs.

#Rockies have designated Jose Reyes for assignment.

Trout has a watermelon sized head. I can't even look at him.

Isn't CJ Cron's melon even bigger?

CJ Cron should be called CJ Cromagnon

Kole Calhoun is the Angels RF. He is the guy who has a Trout like head and body. There are probably others. And you are right about CJ Cron's head. It is massive. It barely fits on a baseball card type photograph. [&:]

I think the J in his name stands for Java Man. Java Man was discovered I believe some time between Neanderthal and Cro-Magnon man about .5 million years ago. I would like to think the average Neanderthal, Java or Cro-Magnon man was not quite as ugly as CJ Cron.
