I think your love of Ramos (and I don't blame you) is clouding your judgment a bit this time. Targeting and getting one specific beloved player is a longshot. SMF got it (briefly) with Hardy and SMF basked in the sun for that season. But really, what are the chances?

Now the White Sox got the top pitching prospect on the market for Adam Eaton. Wow! Twins are getting taken to the woodshed by the Whities. Ouch. Better move Dozier soon before all the best dangled prospects are gone.

He signed so many good players to decent contracts....(Sale, Eaton, Abreu, Robertson) that just trading them away will rebuild the team. Mauer signed earlier would have done the same...Hunter done earlier, Johan, etc. etc. Williams could take chances because he signed his core earlier to team friendly contracts.

It looked excessive....I was listening to MLB Radio and they were asking why they didn't just sign Rickie Fowler---especially now that it sounds like the Nats are going after Jansen too.

Eaton had basically the same WAR as Dozier last year will contributing elite defense and is controllable until 2021. (Although I'm positive they overpaid)
