Aaron Hicks went home-to-home on his inside-the-park home run in 15.89 seconds. That's the #Yankees' fastest home run time since #Statcast started tracking in 2015.

5 tool guy?
I always though he had the ability. If he stays healthy he can be a very productive player.

I heard he sucks, but whadda I know.

That was a turd of a trade

But we got john jingleheimer Schmidt in return...
A 0 tool catcher

SoMnFan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (4/17/2018 11:23:37 AM)

He just needed the dork throwing to him that we got for Ramos
Ya know, that dude who could throw 120
He was a great return, too

When you award a contract to Xcel, you are getting a lot of expertise with the company. When you award a contract to a 2 person company in Montana, you get squat.

I am looking forward to having a cigars on our deck at the lake and visiting about PR. He mentioned once about some guys living in the jungle threatening the workers with machetes.....they were all bark and no bite but that will be interesting.

I told him to find us some property that is selling on the cheap because of the devastation. The idea of being in the caribbean looks better and better with last weekends snowstorm and the impending storm on Wed.

I saw a post by a woman on Facebook asking
why the Twins have to play in for-in Countries when we have perfectly good stadiums here.

Mr. Ed -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (4/17/2018 9:25:18 PM)

Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo would be willing to sacrifice some money if it meant making Major League Baseball's regular season shorter.
During a Tuesday appearance on Chicago's ESPN 1000, Rizzo had this to say about possibly playing fewer games in a season.
"I think we play too much baseball," Rizzo said, via ESPN's Jesse Rogers. "Yes, guys are going to take pay cuts. But are we playing this game for the money or do we love this game? I know it's both, but in the long run it will make everything better."
Rizzo's comments come as MLB has already had to postpone 24 games this season due to inclement weather conditions.

Mr. Ed -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (4/18/2018 8:38:24 AM)

The Legend had a rough day.
Played a real lineup

Those things happen. Baseball is cruel, that way.

The sliders sailed high, the splitters were spiked, and the fastballs remained flat.

The impressive arsenal of pitches that Shohei Ohtani displayed through his first two starts for the Los Angeles Angels were nowhere to be found against the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night, and he was removed after two innings with a blister on his right middle finger.

The two-way Japanese rookie sensation left after 66 pitches. He gave up three runs on four hits -- including one of Mookie Betts' three home runs -- in a 10-1 loss at a sold-out Angel Stadium.

"[The blister] had an effect on the overall command of all his pitches," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said.

"He didn't say anything in warm-ups about it. .... He got through two innings, but we don't want it to get any worse. Just make sure you bounce back for his next start, which we anticipate right now."

Mr. Ed -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (4/21/2018 2:34:03 PM)

Good grief

Verlander is now the morality police of baseball. Got bent CHISOX tried to steal a base on 3-0 count, DOWN 5-0.

Get over yourself.

Mr. Ed -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (4/21/2018 5:02:37 PM)

Among the Verlander antics

CHISOX pitcher had a brain hemorrhage during the game last night.

Verlander should just shut up

Getting tired of players bitching about "unwritten rules". If it aint written it aint a rule.

One of my favorite plays in history happened yesterday, way back in 1976.
Any ideas?
Didn't have much to do with baseball, but happened on a baseball field.

Must be a catcher thing [;)]

C Wilson Ramos exited today's game with bilateral leg tightness. He was removed as a precaution and is day-to-day.

Ichiro retires. Will join Mariners FO for remainder of the 2018 season. 3089 MLB hits. 4367 hits total in Japan and America.

From 2001 to 2010, he had over 200 hits each season totaling 2244 hits in 10 years. WOW

Tightest legs I ever saw on a catcher was when George Mitterwald caught a Jim Kaat fastball with his nuts. Old Kitty could still throw pretty hard in those days. George rolled to his back with his knees pressed to his chest. The trainer came and pulled his legs straight. When he let go his knees snapped right back to his chest.
