Cleveland Indians president of baseball operations Chris Antonetti told reporters on Monday that the medical outlook for centerfielder Leonys Martin appears to be good as he tries to recover from a bacterial infection. Antonetti said that as of a few days ago, the infection was life threatening and had affected multiple of Martin's organs. Cleveland had placed Martin on the disabled list on Aug. 9 with a non-baseball condition. "We're optimistic that he'll have a full recovery," Antonetti told reporters. "Now, to give you a little bit of backstory of how we got to this point, Leonys had a bacterial infection that entered his blood stream, and when it entered his blood stream, it produced toxins. Those toxins did damage to his internal organs and the functioning of those organs was compromised, and it was severe. ... Thankfully, he's made a lot of progress in the last 24 to 36 hours, and he's regained a lot of the organ function." Martin has played just six games with the Indians after they acquired him in a trade with the Tigers on July 31

That throw is still unreal, every time I watch it. And for anyone who says it isn't, I'd love to take them out there from that spot, to the spot he threw to ... It blows the mind.

Not a big Brew Crew fan, but I LOVE that they are giving the Cubs fits. Whuppin them again today, early. Time for the Umps to even things up, like they did the other day. Because, ya know ... some teams just deserve some help I guess. Somedays, You'd think Bettmann [X(] was running THIS league too.

BTW, Kudos to the miracle workers in MIL Chacin has been on the scrap heap a long time Will be 12-4 after today(probably) and had 10 K's in 7IP Lots of teams missed on that. And Lorenzo Cain hitting .304 at Milwaukee. Who knew he had anything left? [;)]

That's one I'm just not letting go of. I get it, local hero and all that baloney But do you want to win next year, or prop up the shell of his former self for another 2 years, 3 years? Even one year? Pisses me off. Joe is so done. He should pull a Whalen and announce the retirement. If he goes through one of those whole season things, he'll be aw shucks at all those stadiums. Whoop-de-do. NOT what the focus needs to be on. But will be. Stupid.
