So far

Rosario and Springer not going to White Sox

Instead

White Sox in agreement with free agent outfielder Adam Eaton, source tells @NBCSChicago. It's a 1-year, $7 million deal with a second year team option for $8.5 million.

This guy has been around forever. Used to be a pitcher, but has carved out a long career as an outfielder too.

Declined last couple seasons.

Sox hoping he has a good season left in him. Cheaply.

Carlos Santana agrees with Royals: $17M, two years

Carlos Santana was great for the #Indians in 2019 after a one year stint with the #Phillies.

He’ll be 35 and played all 60 G last year, but #KCRoyals hoping for a rebound from the .699 OPS

Mr. Ed -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (12/8/2020 1:31:28 PM)

Eaton is exactly the type of player old guys like La Russa love because they have “grit” and they exude “toughness”. Just wait until Eaton gets hurt in April and La Russa plays Engel every day.

Adam Eaton just hung up on Carmen and Jurko on @ESPN1000 after they asked him if Tony La Russa would have trouble relating to younger players.

Meanwhile the Twins continue to twiddle their thumbs.

Thankful they didn't do anything but kick tires on Lance Lynn

The deal would have been those 2 young pitchers for Lynn, on the last year of his contract.

They can do better.

Philly writer for the Athletic

No matter who is running the Phillies, the immediate outlook is defined by one figure: $$$. Absent a coherent public plan, the disconnect between the team and its fans widen

Jayson Stark:

Matt perfectly captures the current quandary of the #Phillies.

They went for it. They spent for it. They never got a winning season out of it.

Then the pandemic hit. They reassigned their GM. And now it's fair for every fan to ask: What's the plan?

Mr. Ed -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (12/9/2020 10:36:02 AM)

So given the financial boo-hoo in Philly, Levine not the only one bailing on the process

Dodgers senior VP Josh Byrnes has decided to stay in LA and won’t remain in the running for the Phillies’ president of baseball operations job, sources say.

The Phillies continue to talk to former Marlins GM Michael Hill and other candidates. But their timetable remains unclear.

Fun Fact

Nolan Ryan had 5 no-hitters broken up in the 9th inning in addition to his record 7 no-hitters.

He hit 2 inside-the-park HRs in the same game vs the Twins at Metropolitan Stadium. I may have been at that game.

If he'd only been with the Twins in 1972. Hisle was traded to MN in Nov 1972

The “Astros Shame Tour” hasn’t ended just yet.

The Houston Astros dominated last MLB offseason as details behind their multi-year cheating scheme went public, leading to the firing of manager A.J. Hinch and general manager Jeff Luhnow. And while no players were actually punished, this past season was supposed to be absolutely brutal for the Astros in terms of treatment from fans and opponents.

We saw only a brief look at that in spring training before the coronavirus pandemic sent the season behind closed doors.

But from the looks of the recent episode of Family Guy, the Astros cheating scandal won’t be falling out of the spotlight any time soon.

SoMnFan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (12/10/2020 10:32:25 AM)

Good
Keep it going, please!
They escaped the wrath, they deserve a re-do.

Loved those lone guys during last years playoffs, screaming from outside the stadiums about cheating at the Astros

Sucky GM's don't always fade away. Like LHP's some get multiple chances to suck

The #Phillies are in the advanced stages of talks to hire Dave Dombrowski as their new president of baseball ops, sources told @TheAthleticMLB.

Mr. Ed -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (12/11/2020 9:36:27 AM)

First baseman/outfielder Jim Adduci had two stints in the Cubs organization, but it appears his playing career is over, as he’s now moving on to another role in baseball. The Cubs have hired the 35-year-old as their run production coordinator, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Sun-Times tweets.

Run Production Coordinator?

What the ?

SoMnFan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (12/11/2020 9:50:56 AM)
