$18mm/year for Osweiler?

Texans werew a QB away from being serious contender.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (3/9/2016 3:09:55 PM)

18 mill for a guy who doesn't have a full season of NFL on-field experience.

Says a lot for the state of QB in the league.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (3/9/2016 3:19:21 PM)

How 'bout RG 3 in Denver [;)]

Shows how desperate Houston was for good QB play. They don't know he'll be any good...but they are still forking out a ton of money for him.

Denver was offering 15 Million a year and possibly upped that offer. I don't get why on earth a player would leave super bowl champs for 20% more money to play in Houston. It is more money but................

Corleone -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (3/9/2016 4:02:31 PM)

$37mm guaranteed for Osweiler.

Any idea how much guaranteed money Denver was offering? How about Denver making a play for Ryan Fitzpatrick now.

IS there state sales tax in Texas?

There is no state income tax.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (3/9/2016 9:02:54 PM)

They make up for it in spades.

There is no state income tax.

That could be the reason. All of a sudden it's a lot more money not just a little more money.

kgdabom -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (3/9/2016 10:22:49 PM)

It's really messed up that some NFL teams get this huge advantage in signing players based on income tax savings. Maybe the NFL should reduce the cap for teams in no income tax states and raise the cap for teams in high income tax states. Level the playing field.

He'd be a better game manager for them than Peyton was.
Which is all you're gonna need with THAT defense.

It seems the Vikings actually moved the ball pretty well against THAT defense. Gives me reason for optimism about our Vikings.

The 'no income tax' strategy is cancelled out by much higher property taxes. So unless they plan on renting, it'll all even out.

Interesting. You pretty sure about this. Just seems unlikely to me that property task could be as much as Minnesota's approximately 10% income tax.

I get that and I'm figuring he is feeling the pain of those property taxes. Just wonder if he's actually done the math to confirm his belief. I live in Flagstaff, AZ. Believe it or not I never check the tax rate. I just pay it like a good little sheep. I know our local sales tax at restaurants is 11%. How is that for a kick in the ...... You tip your waiter and Uncle Sam at the same time.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (3/10/2016 3:37:08 PM)

The only research I have is moving from VA. I thought taxes pretty high there but we had income tax too. When I moved here all I heard was the yocals saying "we aint gots to pay no state tax it's great".

Sounded good until I realized I'm paying double the property tax for a place I don't really want to live it. If I add the state tax from VA to the property it about equals just property here (and it rocked there).

Ouch!!!.
The state needs to get it somewhere.

twinsfan -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (3/10/2016 6:26:02 PM)

The States need revenue from somewhere. Income tax is a much more fair tax than property tax IMO.
