Looked like a playoff team last night, but I'm gonna wait at least another week before crowning their ass. [:D]

Saints D is garbage (probably why they're such cheap shot artists), but that was the first competent offensive showing we've seen around these parts in awhile against anybody. Thought the OL (save for Remmers) did a pretty solid job. Cook can be a difference maker, especially if he can catch the damn ball out of the backfield. Loved seeing him break Peterson's rookie record right in front of him.

It's been said before, but if you could just put Bridgewater's heart in Bradford's body...[:-][:-][:-]

You'd have Joe Flacco!

Thanks Folks,
I'll be at The Mirage in Vegas on the 16th and The Sands in Reno on the 19th, also check out my blog.

and he did it in uncharacteristic fashion, using the deep ball.

....because, (in uncharacteristic fashion for a QB behind the current OLine, ) he actually had time to set his feet.
And let routes develop.

Dude's been in the league 7 years. At some point its not always everyone else's fault.

He doesn't suck, he just has a bad tendency to play below his talent.

We saw it last year where he played like an MVP for 5 weeks and then turtled the rest of the season.

I really hope this is the year he puts it all together. But if he ends the year like he traditionally has, then next year its time to go back to Teddy.

Saw Teddy last night.

Missed him

It's partly the line situation
Partly the QB
Partly the system(s)

IMO

Because I was reminded by my son that it was Checkdown Teddy

A lot.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (9/12/2017 1:52:18 PM)

I was running clock at a JV Game and the coaches in the booth were tracking the first half

They about crapped their pants reading the plays off leading to the 2 TDs at the end of the half.

It was unreal hearing 44 yards/18 yards

From Sam Bradford

It's what we all got conditioned to

Last year he had some long throws early in the year and it all went to crap

Have to keep the more open mindset to go downfield.

Agree on KO that I saw

Get someone else back there that has instinct on what to do. McK is not it.

And ... we don't even have a drive there at the end of the half, if NO hadn't killed clock for us, thinking they'd get the ball back.
Nice to turn that table on them.

Pretty sure Sherels would do just fine back there.
Every time you want to say "well, he won't break one ..." he somehow does.
Good brains for the return game. Very important.

McMurfy -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (9/12/2017 2:43:41 PM)

When I heard last night that

NO

Minnesota Viking QB has had 300 yards and 3TDs in an opening game since Tommy Kramer in 1980 until last night,
I knew exactly why we've never won a Super Bowl.

And yes, I'm looking at you Bradford and Teddy as I shake my head in disgust.

It's all about the QB play in the NFL, has been since 1987 and we've never had a good enough one and still likely don't.

Well, at least GB doesn't ..... errr .... hasn't ..... ummm.... crap. Nevermind.

That was huge. I love that we made New Orleans pay for stopping the clock. I loved even more that we actually were aggressive with play calling, rather than just happy with the lead. And the best part, we finished with a TD.

McMurfy -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (9/12/2017 2:49:58 PM)

Warts and all, would you take a 23 year old Tommy Kramer over any QB currently on our roster?

That is the million dollar question.
And where is Dustin to tell us that Kramer couldn't be a third stringer in the modern day NFL?

Still waiting for Sidney Rice's HoF induction...

twinsfan -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (9/12/2017 3:38:42 PM)

Quite a bit of bickering in here today. I'll stay out of it.

It felt very un-Minnesotan of me last night, but I had about 140 pages left in a book that had to be returned today, so I finished it. I did see the Vikes final drive of the 1st half when I took a supper break. Very impressive. And I shouldn't have picked Adrian for my Grain Belt Charch's Challenge team.

TJSweens -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (9/12/2017 3:58:19 PM)

The level of bickering in here is a happy place compared to the actual Viking forum. Of course part of the problem there is that the bully SMF, was provoking JC. [:'(]

Oh, I'm sure it's a few pages back in the General Vikings talk by now.

Supper break????????

Only in the upper midwest is supper still used to describe a meal.[:D]

Maybe if the last supper had been called the last dinner, we wouldn't still hold onto an anachronism like supper.

Did the meal come after a full day of thrashing........[;)]
