TJSweens -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (3/28/2014 9:32:48 AM)

1. Not a doubt in my mind Manziel won't be there at #8. 2. If he is I don't know why anyone is assuming the Vikings will pass on him if he is there. It sounds like they are doing their homework on him, including talking to Fran Tarkenton for his insights. 3. If Bridgewater is there and the Vikings take him, I will have no issue with it. When the college seasons ended, he was ranked the #1 QB in the draft. His stock has fallen, based on things that did not happen during his football career. For his career he had a 68.4% completion percentage and 71% his final year. He improved in every category each year to the point that he had not only a 71% completion rate, but a QB rating of 171.1 and TD/Int of 31/4. You can make the argument that it was not against elite competiotion, but then you must also acknowledge that he did not have elite teammates either. I'm sorry, but in the face of that I just don't put much stock in combine times or pro days. There is footage almost 10,000 passing yards for anyone to evaluate how he throws the football. Based on that he was initially the consensus #1 pick in the draft. Kind of like Aaron Rodgers was before he got over analyzed and dropped all the way to #26.
