From the Strib headline on the account of the game

The problems begin, but don't end, with frazzled quarterback Kirk Cousins, now 5-27 against teams with a winning record.

They continue to make the mistake of putting it all on Cousins. He has contributed to this mess, but he has had a great deal of help. Yesterday, we got the shit kicked out of us on both lines of scrimmage. There was no semblance of a game plan or any sense of finding a way to adjust to what the Bears were doing. The preparation for this game was just piss poor. They were not ready in any phase of the game.

And before anyone labels me as a Cousins defender, I don't think he is the answer at QB. I had high hopes when he came in that he could put up good numbers and be something more than a game manager. He hasn't done that.

Another thing, does anyone else think that Xavier Rhodes is suddenly running like a 50 year old man in pass coverage?

Yesterday, put most of the blame on the head coach. Vikings were not only outplayed but were ill prepared to play the Bears. Preparation is on the head coach.

ronhextall -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (9/30/2019 10:08:42 AM)

Looks like the Wilfs will have to blow it up and start over after the season.

Cousins doesn’t have “It” and it’s getting more obvious all the time.

He's now doing the "tuck the helmet down tight to my eyes, don't look up, just get on the field, run three plays and get the F off" cycle.
Wanted NOTHING to do with that game after the tide turned. NOTHING.
He's just a part of the pathetic effort exhibited by most. A large part.

The timeout debacle at the end of the half was sniffed out by PA before it even happened.
That's how pathetic Zimmer looked.
Their coaching staff SCHOOLED us. The timeout, sniffing out the 2-pt, knowing what we were planning on every down … it was hard to watch, even if you weren't a Viking fan. I hate the Bears and their staff, but can't even be mad at them. They kicked the shit out of our coaches as much as their players kicked the shit out of our players.

Our OL has consistently been our biggest problem. Zimmer has been out coached in both our losses and Cousins continues to get worse. Not feeling too good about this team. We have a lot of defensive talent, a couple very good receivers. a top RB and IMO would be a playoff team with a better OL.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (9/30/2019 2:45:44 PM)

The theme that has come up in both games

Not prepared

How does that happen

How does Zimmer keep getting a free pass in the media

Mr. Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (9/30/2019 2:47:23 PM)

Last day of September
Season is over

And the Twins are still playing

Crrrreeeaaakkk

The windows opening

Make it a habit

Vikings have no clue how to do that

Zero

Just throw money at possible fixes and hopefully it sticks

SoMnFan -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (9/30/2019 2:48:25 PM)

Still love Thielen
He's a good player, and he's smarter than people think
His comments about being well-rounded were VERY succinct, and VERY directed.
He's the anti-Mauer.

The timeout before half was humiliating.
you could feel Chicago going …. "is he dumb enough to open this door for us? he did? oh myyyyyyy"
was glad they brought it up post-game
He had no smart-ass comeback. None. You got zip, red-face.
Wait … red-face. Uhhhhh ohhhhhhhhhh.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (9/30/2019 2:51:03 PM)

Thielen May have trash talked Bil

But he would thrive there

Trekgeekscott -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (9/30/2019 3:11:32 PM)

I am going to take a deep breath. It is not how you start, it's how you finish. The next four games are all very much winnable. and if they half ass it loseable too. Gameplanning has to be better, adjustments have to be quicker. The QB has to play better and you can't depend on one guy to carry you (Cook). There is too much talent on this team to look this pedestrian. I do believe we can turn this around, but swear if they don't finish better than 9-7 and barely sniffing the playoffs then Zimmer, who I like quite a bit, should be gone.

No matter how this season plays out out top priority for the draft should be a QBOTF. We need Cousins replacement in house next year. not when Kirk is already gone and he's quickly overstaying his welcome.

We can do better. They need the next four games to prove it. come out of that stretch 6-2 or maybe 5-3 and we still have a good chance. But they have to play with a fire they haven't been playing with much.

McMurfy -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (9/30/2019 4:53:54 PM)

After being a fan since 1977,
The team really should just be called
The Minnesota 9 and 7 ers.

7 times since 1977 they go 9-7
4 times at 7-9
6 times at 8-8
2 times at 8-7-1
1 at 8-7

Could also be the Minnesota Mediocre

Problem is---the core of their defense is getting old (and from what I can see Rhodes and Waynes aren't shutdown corners anymore).
