Got 'em all.  Well done.

I was least sure about Young, but he did indeed get past 2,000 with Texas.

twinsfan -> RE: Baseball Trivia (9/5/2013 10:36:43 PM)

Well done, Mark and Stacey.

Bending the rules a little bit here. How about some North Stars trivia. What notable event happened with the North Stars on this date in 1981?

Norm Green hit on a secretary in North Stars HQ for the first time?

twinsfan -> RE: Baseball Trivia (2/26/2014 8:57:19 AM)

I'm not giving the answer until SMF has a chance at this one.

TJSweens -> RE: Baseball Trivia (2/26/2014 11:28:33 AM)

Today was that most awesome day when the North Stars responded to every cheap shot the Boston Bruins dished out. The mandate came from Louie, through Sonmor that EVERY hit was going to be returned 10 fold. The referees actually had to stop the 1st period (or pareodd as Jaques would say) early to sort out all of the penalties from a bench clearing brawl. The game set an NHL record for penalty minutes. The North Stars lost the game, but it turned the entire season around. They came back and swept Boston in the playoffs on their way to their first Stanley Cup final.

Dave E -> RE: Baseball Trivia (2/26/2014 11:54:18 AM)

Sounds made up.  I think Ed is right.

TJSweens -> RE: Baseball Trivia (2/26/2014 12:40:55 PM)

No, for hockey nerds like me, SMF and Jeff this is actually a holiday. It's circled on our calendars. In fact I believe I even went to work today.

Besides, Greedy and Gripey Gund still owned the North Stars in 1981. Greedy and and Gripey Gund didn't sell to Gropey Green until 1990.

One of the greatest days in NS history for sure.
It announced our arrival to relevancy.
We had been the Bruins bitch until that night.
We had gradually loaded up on tough guys, and that night we turned the corner.
When even our wimps had had enough, you knew something great had happened.
Boosted us to a great playoff run to the Finals.

Thanks Sweens.

Name this current pitcher

Entering this season, this pitcher is one of only 4 in AL history (and the first since Jim Palmer in 1973) to

in their first eight seasons have at least 110 wins
60 or fewer losses
and an ERA less than 3.30
