ORIGINAL: McMurfy Spin: Revere's five RBI accumulated Monday is good for a full quarter of the runs he has plated this season. The center fielder is enjoying a tremendous season in Philadelphia, hitting .310 with 40 stolen bases and 60 runs scored with a month left to play. Spin indeed. War: .5 The guy can't get on base enough, despite the nice average, and if he can't get on base, he's essentially worthless as an offensive player. I'm not sure I've ever seen a guy with so little power who just doesn't walk. 29 walks in 553 PAs is his career high in the majors. And he's gone DOWN each year since then. This year he's at 11 walks in 524 PAs. Even in the minors, 40 was his high. I really believe part of it is pitchers have so little fear of him that he likely gets more grooved pitches than anyone in baseball. I mean the kid has 18 XBHs in 127 games. Why even worry about walking him when he's going to make an out 70% of the time, and the other 30% he's just going to get to 1st base anyways?
