Did anyone watch the Hendriks vid on Strib?

"Made some delivery adjustments in ST"

Why

Why

Why can't that happen when in MN?

Anderson needs to go.

Just watched it........

This crap has got to end.

Not that I disagree on the hitting (you need both) but the playoffs are still and will always be all about pitching.

Those wonderful playoffs you will never get to, if you don't have enough offense to carry you thru the summer. [&o]

Its a horse apiece. People.

Justin picked up on waivers by the Brewers.
Kinda of a cool gig he is on lately ... all the playoff bounders want him right before it gets real fun.
Good for you Morny.
Itd be fun to see him be a big difference-maker in someones run for a ring.
He's a good dude.

Lynn G. -> RE: Former Twins News (8/29/2014 8:50:57 AM)

Didn't get done.

quote:

The Rockies and Brewers almost found a way to send Justin Morneau back into a pennant race.

Jon Heyman of MLB Network reported Thursday that the Brewers and Rockies discussed a trade that would have sent Morneau to Milwaukee, but ultimately couldn't reach an agreement. Milwaukee successfully claimed Morneau off waivers but couldn't assemble the right pieces to convince Colorado.

I'm not actually disagreeing with you man. As you know, I want both too. We're close on offense. I wouldn't invest in anyone big on offense with the guys that are almost here (almost all positions are filled). We need more help in pitching.

we need a change in management and pitching coach, which would benefit as well.

The bullpen is overworked. As usual. Ronnie's quick hook and situation subbing has burned this bullpen out.

The starters continue to do well when they leave MN(for the most part). No longer should be ignored, nor a coincidence.

djskillz -> RE: Former Twins News (8/29/2014 9:08:05 AM)

Yep.

MDK -> RE: Former Twins News (8/29/2014 10:15:09 AM)

That would have been fun to see Morneau in Milwaukee playing meaningful games and joining former teammates Gomez, Garza and Lohse......too bad it didn't work out.

Right now, the Nats are my favorite NL team with the Pirates and Brewers following. Morneau with the Brewers would have put the Brewers on top.

KC is my favorite in the AL. Oakland second.

Potential playoff teams.....Baltimore third.

Gotta say, as long as TR, Gardy, RA, etc. are with the Twins, they may fall behind KC and Oakland.

djskillz -> RE: Former Twins News (8/29/2014 10:30:31 AM)

[&:][&:] I hear ya.

I always root for the A's 2nd, at least as long as Billy is at the helm. But KC is fun too. They'd be #2 for me for sure after the A's of the playoff squads.

NL I guess I'd like to see Pirates if possible. Don't really mind any of Giants/Dodgers/Nats/Braves though, and I sure as hell respect the Cards.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Former Twins News (8/31/2014 3:38:59 PM)

The Phillies announced that they have released veteran right-hander Jason Marquis from his minor league deal.

sixthwi -> RE: Former Twins News (9/1/2014 11:04:23 PM)

Span with his 2nd career two homer game tonight. It's nice that no one ever does well after they leave the great Gardy. [&o]

Mr. Ed -> RE: Former Twins News (9/2/2014 11:42:13 AM)

Mastro was DFA'd by Toronto today to make room for SEPT callups.

I wasn't too disappointed to see Span moved for pitching but.......

It is nice to pull for teams with ex Twins. Go Nats.......

Ramos and Denard.

djskillz -> RE: Former Twins News (9/2/2014 11:49:59 AM)

Span has always been a wildly underrated player. Great baserunner, great defensive CF'er, and good OBP skills. He's one of the best CF'ers in baseball.

TJSweens -> RE: Former Twins News (9/2/2014 12:13:21 PM)

Span was actually quite a bone-headed runner for his Twins career.

That's been a weird dynamic of these debacle years
I used to turn against the guys who left
Like miles says, now I pull for them like crazy.
It's just another nail in the stupidity coffin known as the Gardy Years.

One of the best CFs in baseball? Come on, Skills[&o]

How many guys can you include in the "one of the best" list? 9 or 10?

Trout, Puig, McCutchen, Adam Jones, Gomez
You can mention any of those as "one of the best" Span is not in that class by a long shot

You want to talk about underrated CFs bring up Brantley on Cleveland

djskillz -> RE: Former Twins News (9/2/2014 6:34:04 PM)

I'd put him squarely in the top 10, probably something like "7th" all around. I'd call that "one of the best". Brantley is mainly a LF and Puig is a RF. So those don't apply.

Got picked off more than anyone else I had ever seen in a Twins uniform.
