You GOTTA bring that up to your Rivera-wearing seat buddy next time you see him.
Good god dude.
Some people have zero self-awareness.

Today in 1986, the Twins acquired Ron Gardenhire from the Mets. They kept him (as player, coach, or manager) until last year.

First baseman/outfielder Garrett Jones has inked a one-year contract to play with the Yomiuri Giants of Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball, according to a report from Nikkan Sports (via NPB Tracker’s Patrick Newman, on Twitter). Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports that Jones will earn $2.8MM and can take home more money via bonuses/incentives (Twitter link).

Funny how time tarnishes some memories.
Most probably think Greg Gagne, and they think "light hitting little guy". (And some think Wrasslin, but I digress)
111 homers means you had some pop in your bat.
We have big studs walking around now who will never sniff that number.

J.J. Hardy spoke with MASNsports.com’s Roch Kubatko at the Orioles‘ recent FanFest event and provided an update on a shoulder injury that plagued him throughout the 2015 season. Hardy has been working out for seven weeks and expects an offseason of rest and rehabilitation to lead to improvements in 2016. While he said it was a very difficult decision to forego surgery on the shoulder to repair the small tear in his labrum, Hardy noted that he’s been through that process before and felt last time that it took a full six months of actually playing baseball after the recovery for him to feel normal again. Surgery also could’ve sidelined Hardy through Spring Training and into the regular season.

Angels Claim A.J. Achter From Phillies

By Zach Links | December 17, 2015 at 1:45pm CST

The Angels have claimed reliever A.J. Achter off waivers from the Phillies, as Jeff Fletcher of the OC Register tweets. The right-hander still has options remaining, Fletcher notes.

This marks the second time this offseason that Achter has been claimed off waivers. In late November, the Phillies claimed Achter off waivers from the Twins when teams were doing some Rule 5-related roster jostling. Achter, 27, has a career 5.18 ERA in the Majors but a stronger track record in Triple-A, where he most recently logged an impressive 2.63 ERA with 8.8 K/9 against 2.4 BB/9 in 48 innings. Achter’s ERA in Triple-A is well south of 3.00, and he’s displayed good control throughout his career, but he lacks velocity as well, having averaged just 90 mph on his fastball in the Majors.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Former Twins News (12/21/2015 10:27:25 PM)

The Padres have signed left-handed pitcher Buddy Baumann to a Major League contract and designated catcher Josmil Pinto for assignment

Achter was outrighted by the Angels today.
